Ive had a few drinks so am not thinking straight. But what if despite the repetitive mind numbing failure of the last 10 years. What if the club and happy clappers are right to back Ken in. What if we win a couple of flags in the next few years with Ken. It just seems so ludicrously unlikely. How could anyone think that. Just what the . How can the board of our club be such a bunch of *********** arse licking ******t campaigners to make such are *in stupid dumb insane decision. That is all.

It’s the perfect intersection of ‘real world’ business strategy — stability, steady growth, no such thing as ‘get rich quick’, don’t overreact to downturns, if you’re turning a profit and getting rid of debt definitely keep doing what you’re doing — and a mistaken belief that it was the bottoming out of 2011/12 that drove the crowds away.

If they let Ken go they violate the first set of principles, and potentially risk the new guy not having the incumbent’s magic touch of “not being completely sh¡t”, which would lead to tarps and Tasmania.

Two further points that reinforce how this admin has a completely wrong approach to the pursuit of ‘success’/engagement/crowds:

1) the revelation from (I think was) @bomberclifford(?) that the club agreed with consultants who deemed ‘We Exist To Win Premierships’ “unrealistic”, hence the addition of ‘and make our community proud’ — A comical misunderstanding of the ethos that all of us here would’ve been happy to clarify for free.

2) Benny D’s repeated revelations that Koch believes the path to supporter base growth is by courting Crows and other fans to adopt Port as their second team.

So Ken stays as the scarves sway.

Like obviously many Port supporters I am astounded that Brian Cunningham has come out in support of the current regime, as I can't recall many ( if any) public comments from him since he left his role at the end of 2004.

As has already been pointed out though he gave the green light to that absolute disaster John James of Southern Power infamy as his replacement, so Bucky could either be losing the plot, or he isn't the genuine Port bloke we thought he was.

The same bloke who didn’t renew 58 year old, 10-time premiership coach Jack Cahill, after unequivocally overachieving in the club’s first two seasons in the AFL.

Every time I feel like we’ve reached ‘shameless gaslighting rock bottom’, a new champion appears and seems determined to reach the Earth’s core.

I'm still baffled how a anon random like Ken Oath somehow manages to get followers and people at the club listening to them but maybe Bens line there at the end helped explain that mystery to me.

I was blocked years ago from that group but **** me the large amount of people starting a FB page on the club desperate to be important, this one stood out with it's weird traction with the club. ere's some guy with nfi about Port where only bizarre positive only stuff is allowed who no one apparently is allowed to know who it is has somehow generated internal pull. That's the first I've read of it in years and it's still disconnected bizarro land, if it's a club employee then the rots even worse then we thought and we all think the place is a steaming pile already at the moment

"That would have been absolutely terrible to have waited through the period and make a decision on the last game that you played."

With all due respect, Brian: **** off. The decision would not have been based on one game. It has been 11 years. ELEVEN ****ING YEARS.

I can see why casual supporters would be content with the status quo. We make the finals a fair bit, we win plenty of games during the year, weve not bottomed out.

I can see why people are happy to back in what we have.

It’s one thing for that to be the case for all the reasons you’ve mentioned, it’s quite another for the club and its minions to be actively telling them that this is the desired state for a contemporary Port fan to be in.

When Hawthorn were absolute bumhole from 1995-2006 I don’t remember the Dunstalls, Quartermains and Kennetts chiding fans with defeatist drivel that it’s not the VFL anymore, they’re now a minnow in the national league, and that they shouldn’t expect to make a Grand Final every year like they did in the 80’s.

It’s absolutely insane.

I mean yeah, to an extent, but this week of all weeks wouldn't these people stop to reflect for even a second on the fact that their team never appears in the biggest game of the year?

Only North Melbourne, Carlton, Essendon and the SUNS haven't appeared in a grand final since we last appeared in one. Anyone aged under about 25 would not remember us playing in a grand final.

And the above highlights the risk in all of this. It's going to be a long way back if acceptance of failure and mediocrity become entrenched by way of a whole generation of supporters who know nothing but the little battler club that pats itself on the back for not finishing last. We're arguably already at that point. We are basically just the South Australian St Kilda.

I feel like it's gone to far.

I don't think we will get our port back.

Koch ken kornes Richo and the rest need to go asap. But I think the damage is already done.
Yep, if the last 11 years isn't enough to force change, we are done.
They even managed to turn the Magpies into South Adelaide.
They have trashed this club on every level, they couldn't even put in an effort for Russell Ebert's tribute match but they will play for a loser car salesman from Geelong, the whole club is rotten from the top down and I include some players in that too.

its just hilarious the way the clubs refuses to address the elephants in the room, thats is the board are simply a Koch head-nodding ceremony and has deliberately filled the board with yes men to suit his agenda and that Ken will never win a premiership. Its a good thing ive tapped out from supporting this club until all this is over as it must be hell to actually care about this club and watch every decision at the club being a fulfuling Koch's agenda at board level and getting Ken a contract at the football level.

When all this is over their parting statements will be 'what a successful period' we had as they will never admit to their failures as their ego are way to big and Ken will most probably try to fool another club that he is some sort of messiah. Its gonna be funny for me and very cruel for you.

I think you gotta respect Bucky’s opinion even if you don’t agree with it. Which I don’t. I can get my head around the instability of not signing Hinkley prior to finals trickling down to all the assistants who would also be in a position of not knowing where they stood
Which of the unsigned assistants deserves a new contract any more than Hinkley? Carr would be under contract

I think 'Bucky' is either senile or a dumb POS.

ha ha ha, Macca, have some dignity, dont you realise that you are just being slowly brow-beaten into their narrative. The whole club is corrupt, you just have to accept it

We need to burn next season to have any chance of pissing this clown off..
Hate to waste a season but we may have to be 1-7 to get him sacked

it will be 'give him time to rebuild the list, he's proven he can do this in the past' YOU HAVE JUST BEEN GASLITE

Hate to waste a season but we may have to be 1-7 to get him sacked.

We were 0-5 to begin 2022 off the back of the 2021 Prelim disaster — including a 10-goal home loss to lowly Hawthorn and their L-plate coach in the Russell Ebert Tribute Game despite dominating every statistical category (the clearest sign the coach is an incompetent f#%kwit) — and within weeks he was being praised for “putting Port Adelaide back together” as if he wasn’t responsible for the crash.

Ken’s a cockroach who would survive a nuclear winter.

He's got his two year extension so it doesn't matter.
We went from getting smashed in a prelim in 2021 to starting the following year 0-5 and missing finals and they didn't sack him.

The ONLY way they 'sack' him is if we miss the finals next year and drop down the ladder further in 2025 when he's out of contract, even then they wont actually sack him. They'll let him see out his contract before "transitioning" to Carr coaching the next year and will give Kenny a pat on the back and thank him for what a good job he did.
