Pulling out the weeds in the front lawn tends to remind me of p66. They just keep popping up. And the others may have had higher post counts, but I'm not sure they racked them up in as short a time as mr 66.

That's true, but what about the rest of the time? And as I said there recently, I think he and Stinger ought to get a room, they're clearly in love! All that bickering is just a front.

looks like their efforts at getting the site going match the fairness in moderating and warning/banning certain posters that break the rules daily by abusing other posters

It'll be up in another week and be all back to normal soon enough and
stinger can go around and abuse anyone that doesnt agree with what comes out his mouth


and never get banned

Just dont read his garbage and you will be OK. Plugger66 can be annoying but he at least knows something about football.

Rest assured if you played footbasll for the Saints someone at SS will have bagged you. I mean if Robert Harvey and Nick Riewoldt can get bagged, who is immune?

I know that some scapegoats have been told to keep away from SS because of the continued bagging. Raph Clarke is a good example of a player who is never given kudo's for a good game (like in the 2009 PF where he virtually stopped the Bulldogs forwards single handed in the final qtr) but will be called everything under the sun if we lose, and everything is blamed on him.

Just the nature of anonomous armchair critics.

Maybe posters are warned for breaking rules - but how would you know ?
I guess SS don't have the resources for a Yellow Card system

It's more than one poster though - there's a few who can be abusive, and talk down to people

In all seriousness... it appears the admin of SS has been found out; and found wanting............

The propaganda from them espouses 'community'(especially when they need money).... but the truth has exposed 'dictatorship'........ ever since Damien left and battye took full control, it's been a different place.

Hypocrisy and double standards have been the norm and many great posters have simply left as a result.

Had battye really had faith in the community, I'm sure SS would have been back by now.... unfortunately it seems control is more important.

Just my opinion....feel free to flame away.

No flaming from me Paul, but unless you know the circumstances of what's occuring, how can you actually make that particular statement?

I've attempted to contact the 'host organization' to no avail.
I've now received communication from battye and he's trying to get the site back up - with very little success.

The truth is that the people in charge of hosting the web site have no 'right' to talk to anybody other than the Administrator, for commercial reasons.
I overstepped the mark and had my son contact their accounts people on the basis of my physically paying the account (using contributed funds).

By all means have a go at the 'unfairness' you percieve in the moderation of the site, but to 'blame' the hacking and then 'downing' (is there such a term?) of the site on Battye's taking over the site from Damien is, IMHO, going way over the top.

I don't know it for a fact but I believe that Damien has not been around for years and that Battye has basicly been running it all that time?

Given that you and the others who are complaining about various aspects seemed to be content until the last 6 months it would appear that the difference between Damien being the sole Admin adn Battye taking that over is marginal at best.

Your issues seem to be more to do with moderation, aren't they?
You and everybody else who contributed to the hosting costs 2 years ago when Battye asked for it didn't seem to have a problem back then.
And Damien was already gone back then.

I just feel you're drawing a long bow in this particular post..

Well that's good, as long as it comes back before the nab cup or at least round 1. SS seems to be really important to some of my fellow Sainters so I hope for the best with it.

It is the most important St Kilda forum on the web, due to the amount of traffic - ie. it's the largest.

This forum would suffice provided it had equal the amount of traffic.

I agree but just differ as to whose incompetence.

Anybody looking for a web hosting company might not view this episode from Blue Central as a great endorsement of their service levels.

I know "bugga all" about this sort of stuff but it appears to me that Battye, MM and our people have done all they can at this stage. It appears that we are in the hands of the web host. How long it takes to get things up & running is anyones guess. Lets all hope that its sooner rather than later !!
