Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

Bigfooty isn't without its news scoops... I'm sure many other SS'ers besides myself were visiting here for this one:

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=778757

I'm sure we got the story on the players drawing dollar signs all over a former player's portrait from here too. Can't seem to find that one. It was from the pre-season camp up in QLD. Had a few exclusive pics in that one too.

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

I love how a thread about Saintsational on Bigfooty turns into a whiney blue.

The core community of the Saintsational supporter group is absolutely brilliant. Made up of genuine, friendly and helpfull people. I for one would not be anywhere near as involved in the club if it was not for that forum.

Player sponsorship, assistance with tickets, Intra-Forum footy matches, pre-game meet ups.

Over the last decade it has just got stronger and stronger. The Finals meet-ups are outstanding. Friendly, welcoming affairs.

People found others GF tickets. Gave away member barcodes freely so that other die hards could make it to the game.

If only the club realised what a resource it really is. The player sponsorship is great. Generally first year and rookies get picked up. Not because they are cheaper than the marquis players, but because it is more of a symbol of support. Substantial coin gets given to the club. Plenty from an internet forum.

Say what you like about SS....But at its core it is one hell of a footy community and the biggest, most active supporter group that the club has.
The club probably does realise what a resource it is, however they probably can't acknowledge it for legal reasons, they don't want to be seen to actively condone what get said on the site or the actions some members choose to take, probably one of the reasons why the club shut down its own message board.

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

Just on that, pretty sure Hinch was referring to SS in his latest dickileaks crusade. Seems to think the club should've moderated what was said about the "girl". //useless tidbit.

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

Yeah the club wont actively recognise the site. Full stop. Too dangerous.

Go figure, they are comfortable using Facebook and twitter.

The "Moorabbin wing" was born through Saintsational. Would not have gotten off the ground without it. Docklands was a nasty, horrible place for St.Kilda supporters early on.

Saintsational does some good things.

It is somewhat irritating that the place gets a bad rep due to internet forum trolls and heroes.

pretty sure facebook and twitter with continued supply from said individual has managed that
I note he had no qualms in naming any and all individuals involved- is he going to be her mediator?

One thing about this whole fiaso has me puzzled.
Hinch et al have no problem 'going after' St Kilda and the players involved mercilessly.
There is evidence (I believe strong evidence) that neither of the 2 Saints players initially knew the real age of the girl involved.
When they actually did find out I'm not sure?

I'd like to think that they ceased haveing a relationship with her once they did find out she was actually 16, although that's just my morals speaking and apparently not anything illegal.

There is a third AFL player involved with this girl, from Collingwood, who was in a relationship with her at the same time as the 2 Saints.

Once the story was broken in the Hun, did he continue in his relationship with her?
It was reproted at the time that this same girl was 'partying' with Collingwood players at Eve Nightclub after the GF win and it was from this nightclub that 2 Collingwood players allegedly went to South Melbourne and were somehow involved in an 'event' there.

Why has the issue of an underage girl partying with Collingwood in an 18+ licensed premises not been raised?

If it's so reprehensible for 2 Saints players to be involved in a relationship with this particular girl, why isn't it as reprehensible that the Collingwood player was as well?

Where was the leadership of Collingwood ensuring that their players were not involved with this person?
They at least knew her real age and still condoned it by allowing it to continue.

The Moorabbin Wing wasnt recognised by the Club until Russell Morris contacted us about 5 years ago. They openly admitted they didnt want to hurt reserved seat sales by promoting an area where you could sit for free

Understandable but now they like us cos they can use the name to sell Level 3 seats..again totally understandable

Bloody Commercial Realities ;) !!

I have heard (Don't know how accurate it is) that there are a considerable number of AFL Players who have taken out Intervention Orders against this person. Can this be checked? !!

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

I'm just chiming into say that several threads were closed when the "issue" currently being revisted by some was actively discussed on this board to begin with. Such contentious "issues" tend to quickly degrade threads from their original purpose and whilst this thread has gone on such a tangent, probably pushing it if you're planning to go down that line of discussion I would think.

Thanks for the heads-up.:)

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

Not for the first time I'll need to remind everybody that this board is not to be used to continue arguments or disputes that originated on other forums. I'll continue to remove posts and issue infractions if need be.

StFly is right on the photo scandal as well. We shut the thread immediately and chose not to have any discussion on the matter. We had something like 600 people on our board alone when the story broke. On a forum like BigFooty that has over 100,000 members we need to be especially careful.

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

One thing I will say about Saintsational is that I find it often has a lot of in-depth news faster than we get here - pics of Seaford, etc. That's always been helpful. I think it's because they have a larger base of people to do that kind of thing.

What I'd love is the people on there who post that kind of latest stuff to do so here... PLEASE?!?!? :):)

I think the difference between SS, TS & here is on here we only have the 1 media thread we are supposed to post all news items in, meaning they can get lost or people cant be bothered going through to see if they have been posted or not. I know i would normally try update the news thread but sometimes its too much effort to check to see if its been posted or not. Whereas if you can start a new thread per article its much easier to see whats been posted and you dont have to sift through all the comments for other artices before posting.

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

SamFisher25,

You've made your point abundantly clear but I've already asked for people to not take their issues from Saintsational onto this board.

This is Bigfooty and we happen to post on this board because we like it here. If that's not good enough then don't post here. The same goes for people like Hater and Saintspremiers who are continually going into bat for Saintsational. You've made your point now please leave the rest of us to discuss Saints related news.

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

Can't speak for others but I am grateful that this board has given me my saints fix over the past week and a bit !!

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

Can't quite follow the nailing of the colours to the mast; I like BF for all its diversity (footy pages and beyond, rarely the main board unless there's a scandal :)) and SS for it's sense of community but this thread is rather familiar.

Reminds me of the time the The Judean People's Front forum went down and those posters started posting on the Judean Popular People's Front forum which drove one of the moderators to start a family friendly Facebook page for the Campaign for a Free Galilee. Meanwhile the Popular Front of Judea failed to attract followers to their tweets. Fickle new social media.

Re: Saintsational Hacked Again

LOL at cowboy! haha

Anyways, anyone else concerned about the 8 minute video Hinch is reporting about in his latest blog?
