Shaaaaaaaaaaaame.I'm embarrassed that I only just read this thread for the first time ever and it's up to page 86.
Snoop, what was reasoning behind the re signing of caff? Do you remember how long he signed for?
I could do 20 best 22 before round 1 2016 and I don't think I could place him in one of them. There is definitely not a spot in the midfield for him anymore. With Swanny touted to be spending more time down forward, even if he got back to his 2010 form down forward, is there even a spot for him in the forward line now? Could the reasoning be potentially to show the playing group that the club has loyalty and he could be seen as a professional that the young players can get to his standard on training and preparation?
May as well have Knightmare have a crack at this too
Ben McKay pleeeeaase!!!
I love the idea of picking up McKay. He is ideal for a project tall forward, in a similar way that Marsh was an ideal project player in 2013. Super raw, but really talented, hasn't been in an elite system for long, and the youngest player (along with Harry) in the draft to boot. He might take a bit of time to develop, but who cares? We have time. Cloke still has a few years left in him, and if he is ready to play earlier, a tall combo of Cloke, Moore and McKay could be extremely damaging.MAGPIE2013
I think a real chance Ben is there.
He plays at Gippy so I see a fair bit of him and I would be thrilled if we landed up. Very raw so will take a long time and is a December baby so not far off next year draft so needs to be thought of in that vein. Its probably why I think a club from 20 will start looking real close at him.
Right now probably hoping for either McKay, Oliver, Rioli or Kerbatieh

I hope you're right mate. A trade/draft period with Treloar/Aish/Howe/McKay would be a dream come true for me. I'm as keen to see this kid in black and white as I was to see Grundy come to us in 2012. I got my wish back then, hoping that I get it again this year!yeah and don't forget one Ben Reid not that dissimilar either.
He is a type that Hine and team would like.

Hey Snoop, do you think we'll have a look around at what's available in delisted free agency period?
Any prospect of looking at tall fwd like Grimley, or a Mitch Harvey,.. Maybe a Jarred Redden or Mason Shaw even?
Or do you think we'll pass on dfa and possibly look at rookying Still or even Close?
Where is Mitch Brown (the former Geelong version) likely to end up?
I think he ticks a lot of boxes for us in the depth department. Can play forward, back and pinch hit in the ruck. He is an excellent insurance policy as an injury to a guy like Cloke or Nathan Brown (with Ben Reid's issues well known) would leave us up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
I think there will be a few teams after him, is he worth a risk and take him in the ND?
I think he will be gone by the time our pick comes around. Quite a few clubs looking for key position depth this year and suspect he will be first picked. Am sure wouldnt fall past Essendon #57
I suspect that we will be less interested than most other clubs. I expect that Jesse White will be relegated to our depth player, and despite his flews, Jesse is an excellent depth option.
Where do people sit with Keeffe and Thomas? How far back will they be coming from after two years out of the game?
Keeffe might be handy on the list given he is a KPP, but with our midfield the way it is, you would think that Thomas would have to reinvent himself as a forward crumber to get a look in
Thomas is dime a dozen. After our auto-pick mids (Pendles, Swan, Treloar, Sidebottom, Crisp, Adams, Varcoe) he will be battling with the likes of DeGoey, Aish, Fasolo, Blair, Maynard, Oxley, Ramsay, Sinclair, Macaffer, etc for any remaining mid and small forward/defender roles. Coming from too far back and not worth the space on our list.Where do people sit with Keeffe and Thomas? How far back will they be coming from after two years out of the game?

Keefe is certainly big enough at 204cm, he just doesn't have the skill set. He could be a very good depth KPD, which is all he'll be with Reid, brown, marsh and frost all ahead of him.Thomas is dime a dozen. I've never understood the love for Keeffe. He's not big enough to play ruck and too big to play as a key defender. He's good in the air and a nice kick for a bloke his size but he is horrible when the ball hits the deck. All an opposition coach has to do is instruct his forwards to lead Keeffe under the ball, with the opposition ball-carrier drilled to kick it over their heads. The opposition forward will beat Keefe back to the ball nine times out of ten and run into an open goal.
So, the upshot of all that is that neither of them should be rookie-listed IMO.
Any value in picking Keeffe up as a rookie just to trade home later?Keeffe is worth keeping as a rookie
With the addition of Aish and Treloar Thomas is now just a list clogger
