i don't want him back, he ruined the club when he left. oh my god, if he comes back, i don't know what i will do, as i dislike him and what he did to the club.
Whilst i understand the sentiment the reality is one man leaving shouldnt be able to ruin a club.

Thats on us. Plus as much as i didnt like it at the time, the passage of time has revealed we werent exactly squeaky clean on the exit too. We stuffed him around and someone else swooped. Its a cut throat business, look at what just happened to Ratts.

At a deep personal level i still have some reservations about if Ross is the same absolute boss he was in 2015ish BUT seeing the way the admin has gone through this review (thorough, detailed, ruthless, accepting of mistakes and keen to rectify them) i think you have to back them and ive not said that much about any Saints administration for many years now.

None of us have been on the phone calls, none of us has read the football department report, none of us was in the coke fuelled orgy contract signing yesterday so were all speculating BUT if Lethers, Bassat and co are convinced and we know that Ross' CV is the best available then im all in.

Feels like a new dawn and if Ross can leave the past behind then so can I.

I honestly havent kept up with the thread. Apologies :)

Saw he'd had the 4 hour meeting last night and thought "He's ******* coming home!!"
All forgiven.

It's chaotic, messy, clumsy, a dumb idea......but that's St Kilda. We don't do normal stuff, if we are a band we are the Birthday Party or the Velvet Underground not some manufactured boy band like Sydney or some old rockers like Geelong who just have to turn up and shake their hip replacements to earn a fortune. We need a three week drug bender, a break-up and a public exposure charge to write three minutes of inaccessible brilliance. No-one outside a select group even get it but we can't do normal if we try.

I'm all in on our chaotic fractured restart. It makes no sense.....so it's perfect for us. When the shop front needs a repaint we can't hire a painter, we need to get a drum of accelerant and some matches to do it our way. We are putting the band back together. They got them all in rehab and therapy and we've just got the front man back. You are better not to try to make sense of it and just hope that we don't put out a new concept album and go with the old stuff.

If this works out, I'm more seeing it as an Oasis reunion...

Ross Lyon is Liam Gallagher who's gone off by himself and had a few number 1 hits but it was no Champagne Supernova

St Kilda is Noel Gallagher who tried to form a new band but it was never the same without Liam and in the end no-one respected him.

I would hate to be the first player to get a bake during pre season from Ross.

Set the example from the get go. Heard that Clark has extended his trip...
He's probably extending so he can desperately try and bulk before he gets back to the club and has to look RTB in the eye and say he's a 6th year payer.

Ross was the equivalent to a great women who made us a better man.

With Ross, we were achieving levels of success that were only matched in the 60s.

But, like every man with a history of self sabotage and mediocrity. We flew too close to the sun without conquering the world and got burnt. We spiralled. We blamed the women. We neglected the women because we hurt and we failed - instead of praising her and seeing her for all the good she has done for us.

So we let her walk. She broke our heart. We were angry… we probably broke hers too.

We tried other women. We didn’t like the midget who kept telling us how we should be and the view from the world down there. She dried to tip our drinks down the sink. She had to go….

We spent a long time with the first bird who would have us after. Older lady. Liked it rough but could never last a full season. But we stayed together. Ultimately taking her dentures out and telling us we were significantly pleasing just ran it’s course.

We tried the thicker bird who tried to empower us. It worked initially. But ultimately something was missing and she could never get us sober long enough to be good enough.

And then… we saw her and we spoke and Rossy said he would consider us. In that moment everything was right again. The chubby bird had to go… the chance for greatness was there again and this time - with everything we learnt in the last decade we can’t let her go. We will shoot our shot again with her.

me as well

My money on the first to get a bake will be Steele or Wilkie.

And it makes sense.

ooooh smash one of the leaders to really show everyone who's boss. Like picking a fight with the big dude in prison so they know you're not afraid.

Love it.

In other breaking news: Nick Riewoldt has come out of retirement. Taken his #12 back and also asked to be skipper.

When asked why, his response: “in Ross The Boss we trust.”

I’m curious.

Would our supporter base feel better if instead of leaving like he did.

He took a year off because like the playing group he needed to rejuvenate from 09/10. Then went to Freo and now came home?

I feel like a lot of people still can’t move past what happened.

Also, Dard Ball Get was in that orgy.
