I hope Ross brings his coaching hat with him on day one -
I hope Ross brings his coaching hat with him on day one -
Both beautiful in their own ways
Lucky Dard.I’m curious.
Would our supporter base feel better if instead of leaving like he did.
He took a year off because like the playing group he needed to rejuvenate from 09/10. Then went to Freo and now came home?
I feel like a lot of people still can’t move past what happened.
Also, Dard Ball Get was in that orgy.
This is an interesting take.
I for one am happy this hasn’t played out in the media and it’s been done behind close doors

And you could imagine both would want more.ooooh smash one of the leaders to really show everyone who's boss. Like picking a fight with the big dude in prison so they know you're not afraid.
Love it.
short people, chubby birds, drinks down sinks.....WTF??Ross was the equivalent to a great women who made us a better man.
With Ross, we were achieving levels of success that were only matched in the 60s.
But, like every man with a history of self sabotage and mediocrity. We flew too close to the sun without conquering the world and got burnt. We spiralled. We blamed the women. We neglected the women because we hurt and we failed - instead of praising her and seeing her for all the good she has done for us.
So we let her walk. She broke our heart. We were angry… we probably broke hers too.
We tried other women. We didn’t like the midget who kept telling us how we should be and the view from the world down there. She dried to tip our drinks down the sink. She had to go….
We spent a long time with the first bird who would have us after. Older lady. Liked it rough but could never last a full season. But we stayed together. Ultimately taking her dentures out and telling us we were significantly pleasing just ran it’s course.
We tried the thicker bird who tried to empower us. It worked initially. But ultimately something was missing and she could never get us sober long enough to be good enough.
And then… we saw her and we spoke and Rossy said he would consider us. In that moment everything was right again. The chubby bird had to go… the chance for greatness was there again and this time - with everything we learnt in the last decade we can’t let her go. We will shoot our shot again with her.
Agree completely mateClear that our club and supporter base crave 'relevance' and being respected by others.
Believe we should be confident to develop our own footy department without resorting to perceived messiah in Lyon. Need to develop so we respect ourselves and not give a flying f..k what others think.
Do not think he is the answer, posters also think he would be aware of his weaknesses that may be the case does not mean he or anyone else will do anything about them.
If he is appointed there needs to be a clear succession plan - development of others in place.
I think our decision is purely motivated about what we need for success - which you said and I completely agree with.Lucky Dard.
I certainly think there is a certain amount of bad blood towards Ross because of the nature of his departure and the sentiment of "he should have been comitted to our rebuild" that stink followed him even after he left Freo "Ross cant develop a list" was a narrative about him for a long time.
I can remember the press conference where he was asked about his morals and integrity so the media pushed that barrow pretty hard, on top of that we turned into a rabble for 10ish years after it (which i dont think is on Ross fwiw).
So ultimately i can understand some people still being wary of Ross and ultimately truly ruthless people wont really be that loyal, theyll ruhtlessly cast aside those who cant get them where they wanna go.
I understand it but i dont agree with it and on top of that the actions of the club indicate that this isnt about nostalgia or loyalty or even the whole unfinished business stuff. This is about what do we need, whats going to take us forward and make us great and they have decided that is Ross.
The history doesnt seem to be a factor for anyone but us (be it positive or negative) thats a good thing IMO.
You never seen a metaphor?short people, chubby birds, drinks down sinks.....WTF??
RTB or not RTB. That is the question. The forum has turned from unadulterated elation to deep metaphoric philosophical reflection
Personally i dont see the second bit but ultimately it doesnt really matter.I think our decision is purely motivated about what we need for success - which you said and I completely agree with.
But I think there is an undertone of putting our hand up and trying to right a 11 year wrong.
Wtf.RTB or not RTB. That is the question.

Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And, by opposing, end them?

You don’t think the club recognise that those before them made a grave mistake?Personally i dont see the second bit but ultimately it doesnt really matter.

I’m not for one second saying our eyes aren’t on rectifying the current mistake or on the future.I dont think the club or the current administration has any care or concern for what happened 10 years ago.
I think they care about their very recent mistake and rectifying that.
Personally i doubt that what happened 11 years ago would factor into the decision being made right now.I’m not for one second saying our eyes aren’t on rectifying the current mistake or on the future.
I am saying that they would all agree there was a mistake 11 years ago and at some point in their decision to go back to Ross. That has come up.
It would have to considering we have an ex saint director who would have been apart of these discussions.
You follow the saints.I have.
Just never one so tortured.......
