bolloks the shit we are in right now has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Ross's time at the club.I remember as well, in fact, we are still trying to rebuild from the Lyon era.
If we do get him back into coaching will he bail after a couple of years if someone offers him a bigger cheque ?
Strong in the contest comment this oneIf we looking to the past, there's an ex coach that's still active in AFL circles who had a better coaching record than Ross Lyon had in his last 4 years.
Bring back Richo!!!!!
If the club doesn't any XXXXXXL size club blazers then the fitness guy and the club dietitians should work with Ross and get him down to a blazer size we do have. He's been in a good paddock has Ross. Also a structure he’s never worked under before and may not suit his style and application at all.
You talk about others ignoring stuff but you’re doing the same and it’s the exact point most people are making.
Ross might be the best fit but we don’t know that right now, run a panel led process to see if what he is now is all the best bits of what he was 8-10 years ago with the malleability to work in the new system we want to run.
If he is and he’s the best candidate then sign him up for sure.
You’re just making the assumption that he’s what he was but better in spite of there being zero evidence that’s the case.
Yes but he was in WA so that's more like 1985 in real terms.Ross last winning season was 2015, what went wrong for him?
If we don't at least reach out to anyone else and listen to their pitch, we will have been negligent in the appointment. Also a structure he’s never worked under before and may not suit his style and application at all.

Massive fan of “anyone, anywhere, anytime.”Don't get my hopes up
He did have high standards
My personal favorites
"we are a no excuse football club"
"failure is feedback"
"anyone, anywhere anytime"
"we support the person and challenge the behaviour"
"action builds confidence"
Go saints
Who’s reeling? Most of us are rapt! How about this paragraph from zerhanger.com
As the cold light of day breaks on yet another St Kilda submission for the most dysfunctional organisation in the history of sport, fans are rightly wondering, what next? Having sacked coach Brett Ratten within four months of extending his contract, the club is reeling.
What is bolloks ?bolloks the s**t we are in right now has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Ross's time at the club.
bollocks means balls, i think. testiclesWhat is bolloks ?
Club will survive this and then we will survive the next coach we sack and the one after that as wellThere's no point Stav. You are so gung ho for Ross and that's all good. I just hope that it's the correct one.
Because if not. The club will be lucky to survive.
He's already coaching the men's test team...you're too lateI am amazed at the pro Lyon support coming from this forum. Will laugh my ass off if this comes to fruition. So St Kilda.
Should also hire Ronald McDonald as the forwards coach to finish with a bang!
Hear you 100%. There are a bunch of factors here we cannot determine until the guy is actually in the job and that even a panel process will not reveal. Also a structure he’s never worked under before and may not suit his style and application at all.

nah, "very St Kilda" would be evaluate all candidates, then hire Ratten on a bigger contract. That or poach Clarkson a week before he is jailed for life.RTB 2.0 would be very St Kilda.
I'm laying cash.
Much harder draw…..oh, wait, it’s Collingwood so maybe not. They are vulnerable to me. Changed the list up significantly, close wins that were somewhat miraculous at times. Of the top 4 teams, they look the most likely to struggle to reload. It will be interesting to see if Sydney get the GF slaughter hang over too.
To think I was so close to go on the Norf board after the HC non trade & their whinging about the Saints and say
”At least we’ve got a coach” glad I bit my tongue.![]()
bullshitWhat is bolloks ?
He was last successful as a coach 8 years ago. What’s with the Lyon last coached in the dark ages? Surely we know what coach he will be. Need to decide if we can mitigate his flaws (offence and leaving lifts screwed by lack of regeneration, any others?).
go with the "our #1 pick at least had a good excuse to leave"......
