MRP / Trib. Tex vs MRP/Tribunal

What a brilliant idea!!

Cite him to the MRP but also tell them that it's not punishable because he has an acceptable excuse.

Why hasn't anyone else thought of such an intelligent and innovative suggestion??

You're not Adrian Anderson who came up with the post-it-note solution for player interchanges, are you? :)

So you'd rather they ignored you until you crossed the line, and then throw the book at you, rather than give you (and others) a warning that you're crossing into dangerous territory?

Walker doesn't operate in isolation. His coaches will be doing exactly what you are saying he needs. They want to keep him on the playing field even more than some caring umpire might.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw Taylor pick up his opponent, turn him upside down and bury his head in the turf. One of the dumbest acts I have ever seen on the football field from a bloke that has had plenty of warnings.

Hmmm. Was very dumb. Still, he landed on his shoulder which is what saved Franklin for his sling tackle. Worried though!

Thing is, the head didn't bury into the turf, you can see he purposely made sure Morris landed on his shoulders. At no point did the head slam into the turf, and I bet my life a free would have been paid if it did, the umpire was right there. Thought it was a brilliant tackle and showed he had learnt from the last incident.

I said he's probably in trouble because it's the MRP and their decisions rarely make sense. Precedent isn't used, nor is common sense.
Thing is though, it is blatantly clear now that if the head isn't disturbed and the player doesn't get injured, you will get off, unless it's a trip of course.

He got weeks against Geelong because H.Taylor was dazed/concussed. If reports are true (watching the game now), Morris was not injured (not injured enough to contest the free) nor was his head driven into the turf. At worst, it'll be high contact, low impact, and maybe reckless conduct or whatever it's called. I think he should be right.

They'd have to admit the umpire (who gave him a free kick) made a mistake, to suspend him. When was the last time they did that?
Though I wouldn't be surprised if the MRP gave him 2 weeks, and Gieschen still found a way to say that the ump made the right decision.

That umpire was purely a byproduct of the way umpires take forever to make a decision.

Tex makes a great tackle, it is obvious it is holding the ball to everyone there, but no the Green Imp takes so long to decide upon it, so Tex thinks he mus ensure Morris does not get the ball out so goes harder.

Not to mention just before that tackle there were two blatant holding the balls. One for each team that did not get called.

One of the few times I have walked out of a game and thought the umpiring was terrible/noticeable, and not just for us.

So what's the verdict? How many incidents this week? Thought he may have come close to being in trouble with some slides earlier in the game although he was first to the footy so not sure how that will be judged, the tackle won him a free kick, would be pretty embarrassing for the AFL to report him but it did look bad. I don't see how this one was any different to the Nahas one when Tex got rubbed out the first time, and also the Buddy Franklin tackle, footage on afl website looks like shoulder hits ground followed by head. Not looking forward to Monday's report release though.... :(

Quick edit, saw this on the AFL website, looks like Sando is backing Tex in early
