Although less stats this round (concussed for a quarter) This was the best of his 2 games for us so far.

Staker struggling to kick goals again tonight. 0 goals 3 behinds at present (last quarter)

We'll see who gets the nod. Could be 2 all.

Staker: 14 Disposals @ 64% and 1 Clanger, 4 marks, 3 tackles and 0.3 G/B.

Dalziell: 16 Disposals @ 94% and 1 Clanger, 6 marks, 4 tackles.

Had Staker kicked 3 goals he'd have "won" this week.
Granted his shots weren't from the goal square but he's capable of a 50M goal. Just needs to find his radar.
His misses were all when the game was up for grabs (2 in the 1st & 1 in the 3rd I think) & when Brisbane could have done with a goal or 2. I rate Staker & really want to see him do well. I don't think my expectations are to high. 3 goals next time, not 3 behinds.
I just hope he doesn't get dropped before you guys play Adelaide or Sydney.
He's had success running with/tagging Goodes and usually kicked a couple vs Adelaide.

I don't think anyone will be arguing that as at round 4, (whilst conceding both players haven't set the world on fire yet)

Dalziell - 2
Staker - 2

All things considered Staker is 3 years older than Dalziell with heaps more experience. It's a bit unfair to expect Dalziell to perform as well as Staker straight away. The fact that he is at least matching it with him thus far, in a worse side, is a good enough indication to me that we're on track to win this trade.

Wasn't boos... more like mass groaning.

Haha, looks like Brisbane supporters have begun to see why we wanted to get rid of him so bad, was easily the most frustrating player to watch when he played for WC.

You're stuck with him now :D

Yeah, nah. I think if you check the Lions board I think you will find that the big majority of Lions supporters are happy with his progress so far.

its a lose/lose for me
if dalziell is good enough to get a game for us,
and playing well enough to be better than brent staker,
im disappointed.

dalziell on skill and potential isnt in the best 22 at west coast imo

Was pretty impressed by Dalziell's game on Friday. He played a bit of a different role - really put his head over the ball. When he came back on after the KO he went in even harder. It was very evident at the game that he was going in harder than ever before.

A very encouraging game, way too soon to write him off (although I had previously :) ).

Saw a highlight clip of brisbane vs geelong today where in the geelong forwardline instead of rushing the ball through under pressure Staker (i think) handballed it over his head, went to S. Johnson who snapped it for goal.

LOL

Glad he's no longer on our team. Voss hasn't obviously given him a brain transplant yet.

Brisbane win this trade. While Staker is still his inconsistent best atleast Brisbane have gotten something out of him. He didnt play too badly the other week in defence. Dalziell will struggle to make the 25 man sqaud once a few of our midfielders return.

Problem with Staker seems to be that even on his best days he seems to do 2 or 3 incredibly stupid things that hurt the team badly and often shifts the momentum.

yep that's what you get with staker, but at least he's offering you guys something.

i really dont think he's a viable option as a KP defender though, not really his game.

agree 100% he seems to have the physical attributes - height, speed off the mark, leap to hold down KP defence but accountability isnt his strong suit. he is much better suited to a forward flank or wing where those crazy things he tries sometimes payoff while he is on the attack. he looks much better attacking than negating, always has

Bingo thats him to a tee !:thumbsu:

Thats why we called him Mistaker.

He is just so frustrating to watch, tries hard but just hasn't got any footy smarts.

I dont want bag the person , he is a terrific bloke and an outstanding team man but his football at times makes you want to tear your hair out.:(
