Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

I read that as West Coast putting a price on pick 1 and that price is ****ing juicy. Win win for the Eagles if we stick to it.

So north has received three end of first round picks, a second and third and now what should’ve been a second round pick upgraded to pick three as a stimulus plan. In essence, two priority picks including a first rounder every year for three years.

Yet after a historically bad year we can’t even get an improvement in academy access of 20 picks to one player.

Assuming we win the spoon again next year we’d better be lining up with our hand out in a year where midfield talent bats deep.

Don't have access to read this but from someone copying on the hawks board:

"West Coast wants to take Tongala prodigy Harley Reid with the first pick in the national draft unless North Melbourne is prepared to swap picks 2 and 3

The Eagles have settled on Reid as their clear top target and were left impressed by his interview at the draft combine last week, with some likening his presence to Hawthorn champion Luke Hodge."

Seems pretty definitive - huge if true.

If this is all legitimate that is the best article I’ve read all year. 2 and 3 is the absolute minimum I’d be prepared to accept. Confidence growing we’re taking Reid.

1. Another option is for North Melbourne to acquire pick 11 in a trade with Gold Coast and offer West Coast picks 2, 11 and a future first-round pick for pick 1, but that still may not be enough to satisfy the Eagles.

2. North did not match Essendon’s offer to McKay, which is believed to be less than $800,000 a year. The compensation selection is a reward for the way the Roos have handled McKay’s situation this year, delaying on offering the defender a new deal.
The above from the article.

1. ****en lol. Get out of here North.

2. The bolded sums up everything that is wrong. A "reward". **** me.

If you're the worst team in the league, it's highly unlkelt that you have 4 players hitting free agency at the same time that would be worth offers that would trigger round 1 compo.

If for example we'd been in the situation, i think the only player who meets the threshold (8+ years of service) that would trigger an offer that would have given band 1, would have been Barass. Everyone else is either too old (McGovern/Darling/Yeo), or not enough service time (Allen/Ryan/Hough).

It's unlikely but there's nothing to suggest it's not possible?

It's more of a hypothetical to show the absurdity of dishing out picks based on salary + ladder position. It almost incentivises tanking further.

fek that beggar club. constantly requesting for handouts.

they already have a raft of players who were first round picks and they still suck ass

As ROB said, you need to turn our head to get our attention.

What’s that going to take? It sure sounds like 2 and 3 is going to be a starting point. I don’t think North would do it, as much as they need a franchise type face that Reid would give them. McKercher and Duursma/Curtin would add plenty to their side. McKercher reminds me a bit of Josh Kelly, who North chased considerably. They could also use assistance up forward or down back, and any of Duursma/Curtin/O’Sullivan likely provide that for them.

I’d rather see Reid in blue and gold with a 9 on his back. He’s exactly the type of player we need to compliment our midfield and forwards.

Reid or Pick 2 and 3 is a win-win situation for us.

Interestingly, if the article is correct and the Dees go Caddy then that leaves Curtin or O’Sullivan going at the Cats pick.
Would much rather keep 1 and trade with the cats or gws for their pick if sanders, Curtin or O’Sullivan available

2 & 3 is fine if it’s McKercher and Duursma

However 2,8,14 would be better if it’s McKercher,Curtin/O’Sullivan and then someone at 14.

Don’t see the need to take Curtin top 3.

I recon having 2 & 3 will just lead to us trading down 3 to 5/6 + something.

A lot of things you can do once you have 3, assuming we have a target in mind who is going drop

Indeed they are. Telling us all to go and get ****** and we can keep pick 1 :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
