Can someone please confirm Sam McClure already has a "Reid won't extend his contract" sitting in his Draft box....
Then a Reid will never win two Brownlow medals at West Coast.
Then a Reid will never be a triple Premiership captain at West Coast.
Then a Reid won't retire at West Coast.
Then a ....

And he nailed the kick. I love this kid.

Realistic best picks if we don't trade with GWS.

1: Reid
28: Gothard
37: Hall
50: Philactides
57/R1: O'Leary

If we land Gothard and Philactides, surely we can get Zakostelsky as well.

Do you genuinely think that Hunt is anywhere near Barrass overall tho? Hunt was solid this year but he is still an average wingman with a s**t kick that wont be in our next premiership side.
Totally different type of player for comparison purposes. Both are excellent players though

Also a little unsure on why we are comparing Hunt and TB. May have missed something earlier. TB without question is in the top 2 Key backs in the league when fully fit and not playing in the rabble that we have been the last two years.

Hunt may not be in our next premiership team, but will be crucial in our rebuild and setting a platform for us to contend in 4-5 years time.

Hall at 37 doesn't appeal to me at all.
I'm sure he'll be a handy role player type, but I agree, the next pick after that for Hall and if he isn't there then we take someone else.

While Barrass is more structurally and positionally important there are many, many worse players than Hunt (even at West Coast) who have been integral to premierships. If Chesser and say a Burgiel and Simpson/Hastie (should we pick up such a player tomorrow) force Hunt out of the side than more the better. That is healthy competition.
As to the previous question Charlie Edwards seems to be a great option as an outside midfielder rather than a winger specifically.
I know that they are relatively interchangeable but there is a difference.
I doubt Edwards will fall to our pick in any event.
Hunt will be too old by the time we win our next flag. No chance he is regular best 22 in four or five years time. It would be a priority to provide some competition for him with in the draft today as you have said.

Yeah Charlie Edwards has played as a rebound defender and an inside mid. I don't think he is a realistic draft option at any of our picks and certainly hasn't shown he can play wing yet. I have not suggested drafting him as one.

I actually see eventually being a mid/hhf

A prime non flog Alan Didak role

Started as a midfielder too as a junior before being injured and coming back as a small forward.

I wonder if he would have been drafted at all as a midfielder?

179cm so not tiny (same height as Ben Cousins).
