It's been one day people, one day. It's all moves and counter moves. This Melbourne future first thing is just them putting pressure on Richmond to settle on 10 and 18.
It's Freo saying "if you don't deal for what we want, we'll go to the pretty blonde at the other table".

Freo can claim they want to invest in this draft and to an extent they probably do. Let's be serious though, they have arguably the player with the most x-factor wanting to go to their club and they can smell a flag.

Don't fall for these parlour tricks. We will get 10 and 11. Nothing surer.

Bolton is the only one i would care to keep. Guy is a legit game winner & they are rare. I would definitely be happy playing chicken on this one. You just go back to the player and say "mate, they were not serious. They clearly didn't rate you as much as we do"

If he cracks the shits & plays like shit another season, it will matter little to us really as we will be bottom 3 almost certainly.

I'm not against this at all, couple of 2 year contracts for experienced players that cost us nothing.

I'd be asking about Alex Sexton as steak knives in the Rioli deal he can play either end could do a role for 2 years.

I don't know much about Sexton, but players like that is what we need for a couple of years - "pain sponges". Hired grunts to soak up the pain of losing so your next generation can develop winning flags in the VFL first, while getting springkings of games at AFL level. It seems obvious to me.

The Suns would likely have a couple of blokes on their list that you could get as "Steak Knives", especially as they would be keen to free up cap space & money. Can you imagine how much money they are paying Dimma? And then how much money Dimma got for Rancey & Grigg to come up too? He is a snake charmer if i've ever seen one. He will stay there and bring in his mates to get s sip until the keg runs dry, i can guarantee it. I'd definitely be looking for a rotation player as steak-knives in the deal

That's pretty good, Freo can say they are still getting a player within the top 25 and will be getting Bolton who is worth two picks on his own. I'm sure the fans will crack it but we look like we are going to have enough picks to make these types of deals.

That would be awesome. 30 instead of 18 may be more likely although we could push for their future 2nd in that situation. Some Freo fans reckon they will get an exemption for the 2 firsts in 4 years rule because they recruited Jackson but if they don’t pick 18 and 23 means they meet the rule. That allows them to trade their first next year and the year after for Warner.
