Perfect Vlas replacement.

Couldn't agree more that there's no pressing need, our future backline is shaping up beautifully, but you'd find a way to fit in a bloke of that quality, could play anywhere with his skill set.

Sadly, he'll never play anywhere, probably be another long term, big money signing they refuse to even entertain trading.
We picked up the Vlas replacement at pick 17 last year in Tom Brown imo

The Dunkley talk needs to stop. His window to leave the Dogs has well and truly shut now.
If we're not getting Dunkley, then I reckon that Tom Green kid at GWS could be someone worth looking at. Has all the hallmarks of a gun inside midfielder.

Surely we get Narkle? He’s best mates with Shai.

I want to start by saying my preference is and always will be Dusty to retire at or after 35yo as a Richmond player.

If, a big if he wants to go to Sydney I would try the below trades:

Sydney Logan McDonald for Dusty

GWS Tom Green and a swap of first round picks plus we pay half of Dusty’s contract for 2 years.

I'd probably do the GWS one, but we'd need more from Sydney.

Late 3rd rounder at best for Dow, Bo. Even the Blues supporters know they'll be lucky to get anything in the 40's for him. He's just got no body of work to warrant anything better.
We would want to Salary dump Dusty and Lynch wages to take Dow off Carlton.

Not sure I’d be paying half his contract for a player initiated move

Well guys, I think we might need to come to terms with Dusty leaving as much as I hate it. With dimma’s comments, Cotchin leaving, Dusty having family in Sydney and him wanting to get out of the spotlight I think it might be likely. If this is the case and he definitely wants to leave we have to trade him now while he’s still got currency. I’d preferably to trade him to GWS for the following:

Tom Green and Taranto but no picks and we have to pay for a significant chunk of Dustys salary. If we have cap space I’d get De Goey as well. I’m being optimistic here but I’d think this trade is a win for everybody and we’d look bloody dangerous for our next flag tilts. What would you guys ask for?

Who knows he could win a Brownlow or norm at GWS Judd style which we’d take credit for anyway as he’d always be considered a Tigers legend. Nobody looks at greats of the game like GAJ, Judd and Buddy worse for being 2 club players. Dustys done his part and would actually help us even more with doing a trade like this, absolute legend.

As much as we'd all hate it, and we'd love for him to be a one club player let's be honest his value would net us a first round pick. We're not going to get Green or Taranto. People on here are dreaming if they think GWS are going to trade those players for a 30+ year old as good as Dusty is. We'd possibly get an early first and early second round pick which would fast track the rebuild.

I reckon we added some really nice talent in the draft this year with Gibcus and I'd honestly rather start with the rebuild now as I'm pretty confident this current group doesn't have another flag in them and whilst Dusty is around we'd always be trying to build around him to do so which could end up sending us backwards and floating around but never getting quite there like the Cats right now who look like falling off a cliff.

I’d throw in our second rounders to get those players as well. Rebuild done. Second rounders could be duds and take to long to get up to standard when Bolton and co are in their peaks. We need to have a lot of players peak around the same age to win a premiership. Green and Taranto in early 20s are perfect. Also GWS are in shambles right now and they need cap space over picks don’t underestimate bad list management by them.

If the GWS Salary cap is as tight as reported and they want us to pay part of his contract, then they need to overpay trade wise, as is always the case in this situation, except when the club instigates it eg. treloar to the dogs. I'd ask for Green and Bruhn

Grab James Rowbottom as a happy medium in a pick trade with Sydney.
