Thank you, didn’t know about the trigger.

I doubt is predominately about money. He’s been moved around a lot, was an emergency for this years EF, finished 17th in the BnF. His spot in the 22 is 100% under pressure.

He struggled for midfield time this year and our Taranto/Hopper acquisitions are about to make his spot in the 22 much harder.
He's always been in the team when fit. They even contemplated rushing him back in for the final underdone, and probably would have if we weren't already carrying a half-fit Dusty.

He will get more money to go to Port, as he'll be foregoing his free agency deal to sign a fatter contract earlier. This is about money (and I don't say that as a knock on Graham, fair play to him), which means we won't be trading him for chips.

How do people feel about us requesting Georgiades for Graham then?

Is it a fair swap for both teams?
We'd probably need to throw in 30.
I dont know what our cap is looking like though, in terms of retaining players after TT and Hopper.
We need to think about Bolton and Balta plus others.

No, Georgiades is worth more and Port aren't going to hand him over for Jack Graham. Pipe dream.

The Amon pick is the most realistic but a future pick might be more appealing to us given next year's draft is stacked.

Anyone interested in Quinton Narkle?

It’s a NO from me

Not sure if oppo fans permitted in here, but delete if so. I really like Jack Graham. I assume you lot would be disappointed to lose him, but with Hopper and Taranto in I am guessing something has to give. His leadership and on field organisation strikes me as a real strength of his.

Do you feel the Amon compo would be appropriate?

I'd say for something 17-23 is about the pick range, if amon compensation is end of the first round then perfect, if it is a mid second then maybe a future 3rd is added on top. I assume he will sign on a long term deal probably 650-700k range

That's probably where it would end up.
We'd probably ask for your future first, as it's likely going to be closer to 18 than 1 next year.

Was dropped at one point in each of 2018, 19 & 20. Wasn’t dropped in 2021.

We’ll see I guess, I expect the trade to happen so I’ll revisit this post once we know what we’re getting. I expect a 2nd rounder in value.

If its end of first as has been mooted then yep. If it ends up being a first rounder its probably too much.

I'd value him at a pick inside the top 25. He's contracted, so you probably have to pay a little bit more than most Port fans would have him at IMO.

I would drive the two days it would take me to get to Melbourne just so I could drive Fridge to the airport, and I love him.

We'd probably need to throw in 30.

Try pick 12. And they'd still tell us to gagf.

Only if it's an end of first-rounder. Even then...he's our next captain.

if you guys get him I hope you let him take the shackles off and not play so defensively.

Feeling a bit flat...
I always felt he was expendable but as its a reality now, kind of sucks potentially losing an important fabric to the culture of our club.

We all feel a bit flat, but to be honest this is something the club probably asked JG about, his future plans and if returning home was one of them?

Will be harder to dislike Port now if we lose Jack to them ....... oh hang on .. no it wont, they still have Kane Cornes.

This is a massive blow. I would rather not have Hopper and keep Jack.
Hopper is a better player, but is more "win the ball in the contest", whereas Graham is very much "win the ball back".

With the extra strength in the middle, we won't need to set up as much to win the ball back as we have done in the past, which makes Hopper more valuable to us.

If its a top 20 pick , then maybe

Otherwise Georgiades
