The Count's kiss of death.
Massive messiah complex at Essendon. As if Brad Scott is just going to magically solve all their problems.
They couldn't even manage to sack Dodo because it would have made Sheedy cry.

The Count's kiss of death.
Someone likes a good finger bangGad to see I log in this morning and a lot has moved forward. Discussions have been sharpened and we're all a little wiser now.
Yeah based on your confidence I was expecting the Essendon move as well.Really thought DeGoey would take the cash at Essendon.
Surprised.
Me too.Yeah based on your confidence I was expecting the Essendon move as well.
similar grand final recordWhy would you want to go from Collingwood to St Kilda? mind blowing stuff
The Count's kiss of death.
But they give us the opportunity we currently don't have due to age, retirements, lack of midfield strength.Numbers say Greene was in the forward line and Coniglio out
Look at Tarantos tackles compared to Hopper and Hopper was in there around 75 percent
Graham was in there less than a third of Hoppers time, so by stats, Graham has more clearances
Hopper can play, no one is denying that, but your expectations on stats are inflated I think
Sometimes you need to put your aggots on the line.Yeah based on your confidence I was expecting the Essendon move as well.
But they give us the opportunity we currently don't have due to age, retirements, lack of midfield strength.
Now we have the opportunity to play Taranto, Hopper, Prestia along with Nank we will be extremely strong in the middle , then can be subbed for 10 min in the quarter with Dusty, Bolton, Cotchin or even a combination of. Not saying that Graham wouldn't be an asset aswell but Hopper especially clearance wise will give us 1st use of the ball. Throw in Sonsie, Ross (greatly improved) ans Short for variety we now have many options in the middle, without having to rely on Prestia/Cotchin & Dusty.
I reckon they've already decided.if chimp and jack have great seasons and are injury free wonder if they will go again in 2024
or have they already decided
The man was walking around the Cats rooms post GF holding the Premiership cup, he's still bitter & twisted Hopper chose us over Geelol. We dont have half a dozen mid 30yos on our list and we dont by choice usually trade over 30's either (Tarrant's the only exception).IF
since 2017 the Tigers have forged their own success their own way ...
THEN ...
... there is an element of "copy Cats" about their post-2022 season movements. Keep the oldies Jack and Trent on the list, at vastly reduced rates, along with another seven in the 30-plus years of age zone. And bring in tried and true players Taranto and Hopper from the outside.
Didn't all our boys take pay cuts to land "the big fish" Lynch? Houli was on one year contracts , saved money ditto Edwards.
Seems like list management 101. Balance the culture and experience while expecting slightly less output.
Having said that hats off to Geelong, their 30 year olds are going great. Isaac Norm Smith.
Like their on the elixer of life.....did Dank & Robbo leave some behind.
Our 30 year olds Dave,, Bachar, Lambo, Sheds have looked 40. JR and Cotch had good seasons in 22. Cotch is a bit of a worry if he tails off like Sheds. Sheds was amazing in the 2020 GF. At least we have 2 more mids.
Heavily back ended I suppose. even with Dusty Lynch contracts..
Chuck in father son rule !! Hawkins Ablett..the go home factor of Danger to the Bellarine Peninsula.
Some clubs luck out with father son. Darcy, this years Aschcroft we get Naishy and MJR Pies with 2 X Daicos and 2 X Browns
Very subtle there Mr hoosBecause they're f*cking idiots.

Hopper and Taranto are clearly better, but they don't really play the same role as Graham so comparing stats doesn't really give you the full picture.

What does Graham do, that can be reflected as a statistic?Hopper and Taranto are clearly better, but they don't really play the same role as Graham so comparing stats doesn't really give you the full picture.
Hopper and Taranto are clearly better, but they don't really play the same role as Graham so comparing stats doesn't really give you the full picture.
100% this.If Graham was good enough, he would be playing Hopper and Tarantos role.
He isn't so he doesn't, and he never will
