Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

I reckon that’d be couple of tpp rises ago , his bf finishes would be a good reference point for where he is in tpp pecking order. No way on earth you’d leave for 50 ish a season more if it involved getting on a return 4hr plane trip ea fortnight

in relative terms it’s like offering us normal wage earners if they’d go west , travel s**t loads back and forth for extra 5-10k pa ,,,you know the answer to that , GAGF
I am not sure if I am confused or I confused you haha

I reckon Bakes is worth $650K for us but I dont reckon he's on that, more like $500K which would make WC targeting him even easier, especially if they come offering $700-$800K

Yeah I would say...after all the pay cuts other players took in the interests of the Club...he would be somewhere betwix 450,000 and 480,000...and a nudge nudge, wink wink thrown in as well, redeemed at a future and convenient time and place...

How’s a Share in a horse that just came sec in the Melb cup after missing the kick by 3L go for size

Just read Cal Tuomey's top 10 players to watch in 2024 draft. Already looks like Brisbane are gonna get another gun f/s in Ashcroft's brother and Adelaide getting Welsh's son already tipped as the best KPF prospect. Seeing Charlie Naish, and recently Brodericks, Bowers sons, etc amount to nothing. Thinking about it the club really sh1t the bed in only launching The Matthew Richardson academy a few months ago. The Bulldogs and Bombers especially and other clubs have had their academies running for 15-20 years.

Since the AFL comp is basically run like a socialist/ communist state and the more profit you make the AFL basically steal your profits to give to the poor teams. Hopefully the club start pumping some serious funding into the academy cos while we have a 100,000 members the cream of our revenue gets skimmed and redistributed to welfare clubs. Might as well spend the money on potentially landing quality f/s in the future.

If we do bottom out in 2024 I hope we upgrade by trading our excess picks to clubs who need bidding points in exchange for their low picks. And then bid on the f/s and academy kids making them pony up.

He ll get much larger offers than what we’d splash , I’m sure we ll have a dip ,,,is he mates tho with the bros at Richmond he did go out with rioli gf after , dunno about timing , mrj travelled overseas with him
With all our other trade targets gone, we need to offer JUH more than Collingwood.
JUH will be after at least equivalent of Naughton’s salary, and dogs will struggle to accommodate this.

We need to breed better dammit

They’ll have no issue. Bailey Smith will go and they’ll move on the likes of Macrae if needed, plus cap going up loads from about 2025. If JUH leaves it won’t be for cash. He’s not Buddy or Jack and won’t ever be that good so I’d be very wary of overpaying.

In 2 years time he will be in the top 3 KPF in the game

$10 mil over 10 years easily

From what I’ve seen he’s a bit timid to be one of the great KPF’s … Is he the next ‘big thing’, or the next Eric Hipwood?

JUH 2023 averages v Eric Hipwood season 3 (2018) averages:

Disposals: 11.3 v 10.6
Marks: 5.2 v 4.2
Goals: 1.5 v 1.7
GA’s: 0.6 v 0.6
CM: 1.4 v 0.8
SI’s: 6.1 v 5.0
Mts : 205m v 220m
I50’s: 2.5 v 2.9
Tackles: 1.0 v 1.1

I thought at 203cm Hipwood was going to be anything .. and he’s developed into a mediocre tall forward. They are similar builds and play similar games, with very little ‘crashing’ of packs and maybe a little too one dimensional.

I’d love JUH at Richmond as he’s what we need. But I’d like to see one more season before handing out any sort of godfather offer.

The difference is that contested mark rate

Hipwood was and has been never been able to hold his ground against bigger key backs where JUH already holds his own and hasn’t even finished growing in terms of strength and could probably gain another 3 - 4kgs without giving up any jumping ability, something Hipwood also lacks

Hipwood hasn't taken the step from being an opportunistic, out the back forward (a bit like Josh Jenkins).

JUH is already playing much differently, taking steps to be a power forward. He will get much bigger.

there's no comparison.

To be fair it's still early days for JUH in his career as a forward...
But I do get the impression, from watching his games on TV, that currently he is a good, not yet a very good, second key forward.
Just needs to be surrounded by forwards for JUH to get off the defenders leash and be favoured by the umpires call to perform!
Has shown improvement in his craft!
Confidence is a big issue, like all forwards, but it's still hard to predict JUH's football career trajectory...but he is certainly no Buddy or JR8 yet!
