But with the Giants currently on a six-game winning streak, the good times are rolling for the men in orange and Himmelberg admits it would be nice if it continued.

“Things are progressing well,” Himmelberg said. “We’re getting to the stage where we want to get to now.

“I let my manager cover most of that stuff, I like to try and stay out of that to focus on footy.

“But I’m happy where I am at the moment. We’ll see where it goes.”

Not sure I read that as an emphatic stay , more like a dead bat to me . Given the vibe of the place and looking more ‘Iike a contender again, odds are he may stick

2nd and 3rd round pick for taking a bloke on for a year and getting back into the 1st round this year? No brainer with the draft hand we have assuming we can fit it in the cap.

Then trade out our 2nd, 2 x 3rds, 4th and a soldo and/or ralphsmith for 2nd rounders and give them all to GC for pick 7.

Picks 7 and 11 in the draft. Happy days.

Taking a million dollar deal is worth a top 10 pick straight out as there is no longer term advantage in extending a 32 year old

Gibcus is not a forward in the same way Noah was

I don't think he is the type of player we need, imo with Tarrant retiring & Grimes getting on, I think we need another great lockdown defender not 100% convinced on Young certainly is improving but it's area, I think the club will definitely look in the off-season.

A dozen games into his career , nothing is entrenched , I repeat nothing. Rance was questioned as a long term senior player at same stage , fair call
