Damn, it was embarrassing being a supporter at the game today. I want to give Short all 1,2,3,4,5 votes because some idiot at the Club told him to run around the backline today. Every time I looked at the Hawks Forwardline, there was a jockey(Short) running around, pretending to be a backman, too late to do anything but stand on the mark.

he play a hell of a lot better than Grifiths...

No. Just no. Griffiths provided us with a genuine marking target. At least when the ball was kicked to him, you knew he was a chance of marking. McBean as a target, I have 0 faith in to actually take it, unless he is in space. Worst 200cm marking player going around.

What do you want him to do?

Contested constantly, poor kicking but **** everyone was hit by the bug.

Prefer him in the side over Vickery
I don't want him to contest, i want him to mark the ball and kick goals. He does neither of this. He is a plodder and will take us no where, accept it

He hardly kicked , was hand balling all the time in the guts.

Why not put him in the back line deep where he belongs???

Can't blame Conca's kicking today, he hardly had a kick and to busy tagger and hand balling out of congestion!!
Conca in the backline would be horrible, he'd kick it to the opposition and they'd kick a goal 5 seconds later. I like him but i don't know what to say tbh.

Sort of like a team playing a lot of young players?
Who would have thunk it.
They played the best team I have ever seen today and got a lesson.
They tried their guts out but eventually the inevitable happened and Hawks broke us.
The last 20 mins was disappointing though.
The level of melting even for this board is off the charts.
Don't know if they tried their guts out tbh, Richmond had their lowest score under Hardwick today?

The team had far more experienced players than kids.

Hawthorn did to us in the last qtr what we did to the pies in the last qtr last year when they were on their knees.
People losing their shit when they were the ones screaming for the club to blood new players is a bit hypocritical IMO, can't have your cake and eat it too.
Performances like this are going to happen while we see who is going to take us forward in 2017 and beyond.
Most of the damage was done in the last when we hit the wall and the hawks cashed in like the gun team they are.

Thought he was far and away the most disappointing player on the ground Griff.
Probably his worst ever game littered with embarrassing marking efforts and horrible kicking.
He will be an embarrassed boy tonight I reckon.

They had heaps of kids. And just because it was their lowest score doesn't mean they didn't try.

In all fairness, if they kicked straight earlier it wouldve been very ugly

I know what to say.

Conca always was a back man and the fact he keeps being thrown in the midfield shows how deluded the coaches are.

If Hunt goes alright believe me, Conca would.

He has never been given a crack in the back pocket and frankly is high time Houli was pissed off and traded to get something out of him before he retires like Grigg.

Conca would not kick it to the opposition because the pressure would force him to concentrate and kicking to an open field opens up his options and provides feedback consistent through experience from repetitive movement going forward.

Conca simply needs to be straightened out.

Throwing him in the guts where you have Cotch the captain and Dusty a ball magnet is madness where the 360 degree pressure dislocates his bearings

The damage was done in the 2 and 3 quater when we did not score 1 goal for half a game. dismil..

Houli who hasn't played for 8 weeks???
Conca is not a #6 draft pick .. he';s not a #16 or #26 draft pick!
And f*** me .. you don't use a #6 draft pick on a back pocket!!!
Get a good midfielder or take a punt on a key position player .. don't give us he's a #6 in the draft back pocket!

Houli is not even a AFL footballer like Chaplin never was either.

There is nothing wrong with No. 6 in the back pocket. We are talking about Conca not FJ **** ups!!! Focus is required here, stop going on tangents!!

Wanganeen won a brownlow in a back pocket, some need to get their heads out of their arses!!!

Whats more relevant is Essendon won a Brownlow with Wanganeen in the back pocket

I think it's time we got over Conca and pick 6
Clearly Hartley stuffed up this not Concas fault
Having said that play him in the back pocket or a defensive tag he's never going to be a Heppell but could be useful he's about a 18-26 player on our list at least he is hard at it most of the time

Ins. Towsend, Delidio, Vickary. Houli.
Out. Castagne, Edwards, Mc Bean. Grimes.

Apologies to castagne has had a taste & done well, Mc Bean wasent too bad today,
Vickary kicked 2 in twos so he comes in. Townsed in best also. Edwards is in a big
form slump, hes out, Grimes injured.
We need some experience back in or GWS will thrash us.

(Round 19) Saturday 3rd August 2013. MCG
Hawthorn - 66 Richmond - 107.
Richmond wins by 41 points.

(Round 18) Sunday 24th July 2016. MCG
Hawthorn - 114 Richmond - 44.
Hawthorn wins by 70 points.

Today,
Hawthorn had 16 players that played in both games.
Richmond had 12 players that played in both games.

Should the loss of those 4 Richmond players from 2013 to 2016 equate to a 111 point turnaround? No.

Hardwick has failed us. We've gone backwards.
