Having said that play him in the back pocket or a defensive tag he's never going to be a Heppell but could be useful he's about a 18-26 player on our list at least he is hard at it most of the time

I think he might be very good as a back pocket. If he can draw on that and develop further so be it.

I think he needs routine and continuity at the moment to progress and see what happens from there.

Expecting him to excel in the midfield now is a reach IMO and a waste.

He played as a kid from WA in wide spaces so his decision making could never be as sound. The regimented back line plays in a back pocket should help him forge his development with him still being able to utilise his speed, leap and defensive attributes otherwise he becomes a bust.

If he can hold down a back pocket position playing well as he improves who knows how he may develop if he can get over his hammy's

What was the go with kick ins after behinds? We kick to 60m out left hand side every time. Long to a contest- that is our kickout game plan??!?!?!

The players have no idea what the game plan is, we try and switch but no one is running hard/blocking or creating space, so we handball around to flat footed players in worse positions and then in the end we get a hurried kick forward to a contest, which we could've achieved 5 possessions earlier! The fault has to lie on the coaches for not being able to teach the players or if that's not the problem then the game plan does not suit the players we have at the club and is not to their strengths.

At no stage today did I actually think we would be competitive, it was just that Hawthorn finished horridly and kept us in it. They played at about 40% of their ability and beat us by 70 points... That's how far off we are!!

I'm 55, supported them all my life. Member since 1976. Now and for the last 5 years 3121 member. I'm done. I can't stomach that there's just no spark or enthusiasm. We have Dusty, Rance, Jack, Lids and maybe include Cotch.....and we look like a bottom 4 side.

The players don't seem to be involved. So many clubs have gone past us. Watch St Kilda and then look at us. They're so much more exciting and excited/enthusiastic. I'm sick of putting of my cash in for so called footy stuff and seeing no result. The only time I hear from the club is when they want more money. I'm done and out.

Im hearing you mate, real dissapointing year. I think the fact we have 20 guys all coming out of contract may have affected team moral also. Bit of a mess really.

Credit where credit is due. Hunt ( who I am not keen on) Played well, and Hammer rucked well.

I like the look of Drummonds skills. He looks like a footy player.

Not a big impact, but what Lloyd did was ok.

I thought Vlas was good as well.

Our usual suspects played ok. Especially Dusty.

The youngsters looked ok for where they are at.

The bad:

I had high hopes for BEllis. But I have come to the conclusion he is a slow decision maker. He's better without the ball tackling and pressuring.

I really like Astbury, but he is too got and cold for a backman.

Poor old Griff... I just don't see a future. Terrific young bloke, but he's not the future.

Bean... I am a big advocate of getting 8 games into a player before casting judgement, but his skills look bad. Hope I'm wrong.

Overall though a horrible game by both teams to the end of the 3rd qtr.

Not me. It'll all be better next year. We haven't won a final yet but with the players that are out coming back in next year and Dimmas game plan developing we'll be top 4 for sure.

The signs were there today. Hawks just got lucky kicking 12 goals more than us. Could have so easily been the other way.
