Is he a consistent goal kicker?

We definitely lack a goal scoring midfielder. Since Danger left the only midfielder to kick 20+ goals was Sloane in 2017.
No he isn't a known goal kicking mid, he kicks the occasional goal. But it not necessarily a string to his bow currently

Very exciting to see Draper in Crows colours. Love his reaction in the video above to what it'd be like to run out on to Adelaide Oval in front of a full house. Genuine! Looks like the type of character that will embrace the challenge too and may take some pressure off the likes of Thilthorpe and Rachele who can hopefully go about their business. Someone earlier in this thread mentioned he be given the number 9 and I think that would be entirely appropriate. Good luck to him!
Who has 26 currently?

I wanted Jagga, really thought Carlton would take Sid but when you think about it all 5 of the rated ones would have been good. Sid will fit nicely into the Crows for a long time to come.
The best thing was that Hamish stayed right where he needed to be in the draft.

The way no trade happened with North suggests at least the top 5 clubs in the draft new full well who each other was drafting. There were no surprises. I think the Crows new Carlton were drafting Jagga and Carlton new North were taking FOS and North new Lalor was off the table. they all new. Its all to neat. Especially when you look in the rooms and there are no discussions.

Out of the Matt Turner, The Advertiser article - can only do a couple of ABRIDGED paragraphs for copyright reasons - these inc us valuing his pace, power and Burgo being impressed last summer. Some other interpretations from my own words as per ##

See Firewalkers article posted below instead - have taken my quotes down

## “super-high” character and real leadership potential (as we all know already as SA captain last 2 years)

He’s a great kid who loves the Crows and wants to play for us, and that doesn’t happen very often.” Ogilvie said while the local factor was a bonus, the club simply had to pick the best player at that part of the draft. Fast, agile and hardworking,

## After the article quoted his stats, Hamish mentioned he would be pushing to play immediately. Player comparison Hamish used was Rozee

## Kevin Sheehan called Draper as “dazzling and dynamic.”

## Mick Ablett said Draper’s “two-way running was fantastic for his age.”

## also reminded us Draper is second highest ever drafted after TT

PUMPED

I hope we start him off half back like North did with Sheezel. Has the pace and carry to really excel there while he gets used to the speed of the game.

Article actually mentions we wanted to trade but Kangas weren’t interested. Sounds like Crows possibly were scared of Blues but worked out for the best instead of also giving uo some crappy picks next year also (45-60)

New draftees getting a game Rd 1 is definitely not a concern with Nicks as proven by his track record over the past 5 years.

Some of the older and more jaded posters are still stuck in the Neil Craig era.
Or they were referring to the presumption, before he's kicked a ball in anger

We haven't done that with a young mid for a long while

Since McLeod / Goodwin / Johnson

No room there..cumming, hinge and either Keane or Murray occupy half back. But the wing woukd be a good spot with his pace and running power

Plus Milera, Max and perhaps even Jones somewhere back there (even Bonds last 6-7 games showed immense lockdown ability. Impressive rewatching some quarters here and there as he did a great job against oppos most dangerous smalls)

And ideally Ryan gets a gig early-mid season which is looking hard to achieve with the other competition for a running hbf
