Meanwhile if the Chris Burgess link has legs he will be handy pick up especially depth wise and could see him playing quite a bit of AFL with his ability to play back, forward and chop out in the ruck.,

Both he and Chol should be VFL Premiership players after the weekend.

Makes you wonder why Port aren’t balls deep in this? Can solve their forward and back holes.

Well our Forward coach put his hat in the Essendon ring for the list manager position, he didn't get it but he may be looking for a return to Victoria.

Hurn and Forward line don't really go together though
We made Ben Hart our forward line coach and James Podsiadly our defensive coach.

Have heard that we have offered a recently retired WCE Captain a coaching role and that he is considering it.

Not sure what that role is......
Hope so as Hurn is a quality person.

I understand the debate about cost and opportunity cost around McCluggage but I feel that if the opportunity became possible this year, we no option than to take it. McCluggage would be a terrific acquisition to our midfield.

The risk of waiting and hoping for McCluggage AND this years draftees would be too great for me.

25 years old
185cm, 84kg
153 games
2 x AA nominated
2 x 3rd Brisbane BnF

Ticks every box this club needs and discussed on here ad nauseum

I think we would need luck to do better in the draft...
Would happily give up this years & our future 1st to land McCluggage.

Would be happy to have both as ins, along with Hayward to offer loss of McAdam, Doedee & Himmelberg.

Healthy turnover for us.

I am wondering how we are selling the move to Chol if we are targeting him. Are we planning on him coming as depth cover only if we get injuries to one of our key talls? Or are we telling him he will be in our starting 22. We will be very top heavy up forward if he plays alongside Tex, Fog and TT.

Direct competition for ROB and with en eye once Tex winds down

Oops yeah you're right.

Swans wouldn't give up Hayward though would they? Isn't he pretty serviceable up forward? At least he was at the beginning of his career.
Yeah he’s a good player, can’t see Swans giving him up cheaply, especially being in contract

RFA next year though, if we still want him

Word is that Chol and Rankine became close mates.. maybe Chol just wants to team up with Rankine again?
How ironic will it be if Rankine helps us net pick 5 after McKay's compensation because we are willing to give them bid points and also absorb all of Chol's salary as Hardwick doesn't rate him after already trading him to GCS from Richmond.....

Would be a hell of a lot cheaper than Ratugolea, and probably not much difference in their output on the field.

I guess he didn't fit in the missing piece hole they needed to fill.
Maybe he’s just not committed enough to football, like Grundy
