F*** SAKE CHRIS STICK A CORK IN IT!
Don't think a Scotty has the same pull with the afl. He'd get shot for itOr do a Clarko
I wouldn’t say it’s linear either. But the only players he could reasonably replace (like for like) also excelled in the second half last night. It’s hard to imagine him performing better than any of them.Probably; but I'm not as convinced the path is that linear.
To be fair it was a split second and 99% of the time those are called back.To check if it hit the post on the full or on the bounce
On the bounce is a throw in
On the full is a free kick to Richmond
Better option would have been for Stengle to not take the snap shot and let Conway go back for a kick on goal

We also have Dangerfield, C.Guthrie, Blicavs and Clark to return. Can’t see how Hardie gets a look in now.
Yeah it is a score review system, not a throw in / OOBOTF review system. Otherwise why not review every potential OOBOTF?
Maybe because so close to our goal? A Tiggs free would disadvantage us compared to a throw in. The same context would apply at their end. I don't mind it, if the dopey umpire is beyond any self confidence for something that occurred right under his nose in the goal teeth. They're Grand standers, anyway.
Wow, he literally runs on gas. A new model of a footballer.I just think unless conway literally runs out of gas (he may given endurance issues) we must play him.

Exactly- we got stonkered both times. At the time it felt like Stengle was happy to take the risk of having a shot & if it went through all good, but if it didn't that they'd then call it back - only thing is they didn't call it back
It's kinda funny how that was deemed ok as play on but a few weeks ago when Cameron got on the end of the kick from Clark and soccered through a goal, they called it back deeming "no advantage"
Numpty umpsExactly- we got stonkered both times.
It just comes back to this ridiculous assumption that if you're good, you must be old, and if you're bad, you must be young. My favourite piece of commentary for the night was Luke Darcy saying how brave Richmond's midfield had been but they were "getting worn down by more mature bodies".
The next centre bounce was Nankervis (29), Baker (26), Graham (26) and Martin (32) vs Conway (21), Holmes (21), Bruhn (21) and Bowes (26).
I think the later. Just for those slightly older guys they see no value in playing VFL half. For the younger guys on hold backs they see it as better than full rest and in unlikely (very unlikely) event of (unexpected) late change they are going to be sub anyway - and are young!
Up until last night our holdover has always been a “managed” mid age or older player to freshen up. I am hoping it is a good sign for Mannagh they are expecting him to play AFL next week - but don’t know
It's a win/win in that respect.Neale is a curious one. Our structure doesn't seem right with so many forwards, specifically KPFs. An extra midfielder/runner instead makes sense.
Yet if you look at Neale's output it hasn't been bad at all. 8 goals and 3 goal assists from 4 games (2.75 goals/assists per game).
9.5 disposals and 5 marks a game is perfectly fine for a forward playing his 6th-9th AFL games.
Then curiously, Hawkins has been back in the goals/assists (6 over his past 2 games) since Neale came into the side.
Is the experiment actually working?
Duncan's kicking is an asset on the G too though where space opens up. The game against Carlton was a good example. Duncan will struggle when our team are not in rhythm but then if that's the case we will be losing anyway. You can't just stack your team with players who might perform better if we are being dominated. You need to maintain your strengths and be proactive. Every time we make a comeback Duncan is there getting our game going.Thats true and might be why we take duncan there next week.
I was more talking about finals at the mcg this year..duncan is crucial when we start moving the ball quickly (like the second half last night) as his kicking can create angles and space, but if we turn the ball over at the mcg because of his lack of legspeed he struggles to get back to defend and im not sure we can cover it on the bigger ground (definitely one of him and tuohy has to go in that scenario if not both).
I think C Scott is just being cagey. Yeah there’s been a few hiccups the last month but 3 close losses of the 4 games lost was never panic stations.
It’s wide open. Reckon there’s 6-7 teams who could genuinely win the flag. We lost 4 in a row and we’ll finish the round in the top 4. Dees being mounted against their will Vs Freo. Swans have gone early but there’s no medals in May / June. Giants were off the boil. Bombers still can’t be trusted. Carlton got and cold.
Do I think the Cats will win it - no. But I didn’t think we’d win at the midway point of ‘22.

Sure Swans have mental demons with Cats.Only chance we have is if the swans still have mental demons with us, which they very well may have after the humiliation in the 2022 GF and then an almost 100pt flogging early last year in Geelong.
I thought Scott inferred Danger was being 'saved' for SydneySounds like danger is clear to play but scott is unsure whether to wait til after the bye or not.
Oops!Yeah, it was a joke
Kudos to Mrs Tuggacat Is she a Geelong supporter? That is how my (relatively new to footy) wife looks at our chances. Utterly ridiculous (except she has beaten me in four of the last five tipping comps!).
