Ken is doing the exit interviews as well as being on leave. He is also getting sacked and coaching here next year. He is also not involved in recruiting and also is bringing in new players. Ken is the mastermind of the game plan and has no input into tactics.

If I were Carr, I'd be conflicted about whether to wait another year before stepping into the role. Delaying would give him the chance to select his assistant coaches when he takes over and allow JHF, Rozee, and Butters more time to develop.

Given that the position appears to be promised to him, as reports suggest, there's no immediate urgency.

On the other hand, if I were Hinkley, I'd recognize the signs and step away now while my reputation is still strong with the broader football community. Taking a year off to recalibrate and then returning elsewhere would be a smart move. Say what you will about Hinkley, but his emotional intelligence and ability to finesse situations is extremely good.
You're winding us up

So nothing is his fault... Or responsibility.

He’s responsible for something, mate: the wins!

I win, we draw, they lose

Dunno. Just what I heard on the radio.
If you hear Andrew Jarman say something on the radio, the safe bet is to assume the opposite is true.

While I know its a yearly summary, and outside of the diabolical finals campaigns and non-accountability, the 2022 Russell Ebert Tribute game v Hawthorn stands out in my memory as well as that was an absolute slap to the face.
An epitome of us failing under Hinkley when any sort of pressure or expectation to perform is put on them (even against a cellar dweller opponent).

For emphasis: 2 home Prelims, a tribute game to the club’s recently-departed GOAT, and an utter capitulation to the then 13th-placed side — who as many have said, will no doubt cite that game and the resultant belief/unity/confidence imbued, as the baseline rocketship for their premiership should they win on Saturday (joining a handful of clubs who already reference their “FaMoUs WiN oVeR tHeRe” as such in recent years).

And the above list obviously doesn’t include the away Showdown of 2017, when the ladder-leading Crows obliterated the 5th-placed Power by 84 points — which could’ve honestly been a 150pt result or worse, given the astronomical 81-31 (-50) discrepancy in inside50’s.

To put that gap into perspective, the back-to-back smashings of a mentally, physically and financially nuked Baby Power in 2011 ‘only’ saw Port lose the i50 count by 73-35 (-38) vs Collingwood, and 68-29 (-39) vs Hawthorn.

And we’re sat here facing the prospect of yet another year with this bloke at the wheel!

Yep I definitely wouldn't have had Kevvie getting sacked before Ken on my bingo card even a month ago let alone 12 months ago when they made the bloody grand final.

This is how a real club operates. External review following a year of complete underwhelm, and then acting on said review swiftly and decisively.

One of mates who I play fantasy football with who’s a Broncos fan aswell is very happy with the decision, and we're here waiting for Ken to get the boot.

Chewy316 Do you know who did the player exit interviews?

Pretty sure it was CD, Crippa, Ken and the player's line coach, but I haven't definitively confirmed that so don't take it as gospel.

I'm a massive Broncos fan (they're higher than Port on my fandom) and I'm also thrilled.

And he only coaches in the games we lose where Josh coaches the games we win.

My husband is happy tonight that the broncos sacked their coach. Hope we can both be happy with sackings by next week.
