Lets say we finish 12th next year then Pick 6 and Pick 24 = Pick 2. Change it to a third rounder and rate Acres at 36 and its still Pick 3. No way we'd offer that straight up knowing all the other deals we are looking and no way Freo would reject either.

If Lethlean still thinks there's somehow a chance of making the deal by utilising Pick 12 then we (and Freo) up till yesterday have been looking at the 6 to 10 range for Hill

Jack Steven has potential to unlock a fair bit.

If we got pick 37.

We could offer the Dogs, Bruce and 37 for 13.
There is then a chance that Freo would accept 13 and 14 , with or without Acres.
18 = Howard and Ryder
Have to be a future second for Jones i guess.

Then outside the square a bit.
If we can convince Bruce and Sydney they are a perfect match, they might like to do a decent deal involving Bruce and Jones, rather than the painful dealing with Dodo.
If a Daniher deal gets done, we might be able to convince Essendon and Bruce they are a match.

Seriously - if we actually offered Pick 2 or 3 equivalent for Hill and Freo rejected it then Bell has done us a favour.

I simply can't see how we could even begin to manage any other trades if we didn't get something reasonable back from Freo (and I mean something more than their only other pick which is pick 83).

Doing a dud deal on Hill would then put pressure on having to complete a deal on Bruce and any smart operator would then screw us on that as well.
