which should increase his average possessions per game.

IMO Longy's kicking style is susceptible. He drops the ball with two hands when kicking a drop punt so it is a slow technique. He seems to be better roosting it than directing it. I love Longy. Campaigner. However his lack of possessions and kicking style may be the reason he is being talked about as a trade.

He obviously has the ability to occasionally hit targets. Every single player on the list has that ability. But on a consistent basis in the VFL (and in my opinion in large chunks of his AFL games) he has shown poor kicking and decision making. Some players make time slow down around them, he seems to rush into most things. Outliers aside, his body of work hasn't stacked up in the VFL so far, let alone AFL.
Well here's where I'm not qualified to respond because I don't see much of our VFL due to the abysmal coverage of it.

So I'll shut up. I'm being selective because you stated he can't kick. He can definitely kick - I reckon we just need to persevere with him - it's not the time to just give up. He's still relatively young and form what I have seen, I like him.

Anyway, I'm sick of talking about Long - is this ****ing deal getting done or not?!

Wait sorry mighty saint I quoted the wrong post - was replying to tbarker. Either way, as I mentioned, both of you are more qualified to comment on his VFL form than me so I'll leave it at that.

Sorry but the club have fu....Ed up here big time. Nothing to do with Steven.Wells and Bains know Saints are overpaying all the new recruits so can just sit back and screw us over. Bastards. But it is all our doing and a major blunder from the football dept. As I keep telling you we have cast our net too wide and stuffed the outgoing trades big time. Horrible

Geez I wish I could negotiate against you everyday.
The dogs are potentially a key forward just like bruce away from a real shot at a flag- Bains will not be sitting back, happy to take or leave bruce at all.
He will be madly scrambling to make something happen.
We are the ones that are sitting back because the dogs are far more desperate for bruce than we are to gain what bruce would get us (jones).

We will hardly be crying a river if that champion zac jones doesn't come- which is a great position to be in, all the more so now with bing off the radar... bruce remains as valuable to our plans as ever.

The Stuv situation is different because (for reasons completely out of the control of the club), Jack only wants 1 club- and that club seemingly are more than happy to not get him at all unless it's for sweet FA.

Can you please do a big lebowski one? Or An Entourage one - Ari Gold versus Terrence McQuewick?? I'd love to see them!

I can't help you but just try and listen to yourself.if Bains was in such need for Bruce why hasn't the deal been done? Cause we have to get rid of Bruce to pay for the incoming recruits so he will sit back and and watch us sweat. We have already spent Steven and Bruce's salary and other clubs know this so we will get screwed

Only picks 12, 18 & Port’s pick 10 mentioned as being involved. Nothing about future picks:

PORT Adelaide has stepped in to help end the Bradley Hill standoff and is set to have multiple top-20 picks in this year's draft.

The Power's No.10 selection proved the circuit-breaker in productive weekend negotiations between them, St Kilda and Fremantle that are continuing on Tuesday morning.

All parties hope to reach a resolution, at worst, by day's end.

The Saints will land Hill and Port Adelaide talls Dougal Howard and Paddy Ryder – three of their five targets – in the three-way trade, with the finer details still to be thrashed out.

Port Adelaide will score picks 12 and 18, which St Kilda acquired from Greater Western Sydney last week in exchange for Nos.6 and 59.

Pick 10 will form the basis of the Dockers' Hill compensation, with the rest of their haul still to be decided.

Fremantle football boss Peter Bell was previously keen for a second first-round selection to be involved.

A bevy of other draft picks are going to be part of the deal, but the exact pieces were still changing as of Monday night before Tuesday's meetings began.

He starred for Footscray in their Premiership final series (VFL). Thats why they want him.

By the Monday night last year, deals had been done for the following:

Mitch McGovern, Hannebery, Polec, Pittard, Hickey, Rohan, Ryan Clarke, Lincoln McCarthy, Corey Ellis, Anthony Miles, Kent, Preuss, Hannebery, Tyson, Setterfield and Sam Lloyd.

That's not even including the pick swaps, just the players who had moved.

This year we've had:

Betts, Frost, Langdon, Kelly.

There is clearly a different attitude to trading this year.

Wayne you strike me as the type who is a nervous flyer.

Relax- the pilots knows what they are doing, as do the egghead scientists and engineers that conceived of, designed, built and maintained the thing.
