I get you're over the negative but unfortunately it's all hype for us and Carlton until there is a rise in performance. If we were a racehorse we would be crazy to back us on past form. I think the new guys might make a psychological boost and we should be up beat but there is enough poor past form for people to be weary of excessive hope as well.

Yeah it’s not hype , felt it early in the year too .

I know a few connections at the club , it’s a different vibe completely than I have ever experienced.

We are organised operating to a plan , don’t think it included the injury toll or setbacks to be expected
in preseason ...never been able to compete with the big boys for training facilities, we can now.
Making solid inroads in the business community bayside , China game is important vehicle for it too.

Funny you mentioned Carlton have had the opportunity to going thru their facilities at Ikon park
Stkilda’s leaves it for dead , doesn’t mean anything if we don’t have the right people , confident we
are getting there too , Rath & Roughead are magnificent aquazitions.
Heard Ratts say about Rath was the “ Bradman “ with his knowledge of the game , particularly tactically.

Been really good year for Sponsorship, technical expertise as well , recruiting been tightened up with Lethlean
and the Banker steering the ship ...we aren’t there yet with playing personnel, but the new ones are
really strategic..to the ground we play on regularly.

Will it result in the ultimate prize who knows certainly a lot more confident in the direction of the club these days.

Until it translates into results it's hype. Last year was the definition of hype after 5 rounds.

There is definitely a better more professional vibe to the club because of the facilities and the staff are getting better. Just need to nail the on field more than anything else. We seem to have done a lot of one out one in and won't have much access to drafts for 2 years during a clean out/ rehash. Not ideal but hopefully they know what they are doing.

But the hype was so good while it lasted, I was pumped. We are pretty much a different side than last year so can't really take a lot from past form. We just have to start getting results.

That's funny - but I actually feel sorry for you.

If you reckon can't get excited and hyped when you sitting 2nd after 5 rounds despite having Carlisle, Geary, Hannebery, McCartin, Roberton and Steven on the injury list, it must be very depressing for you to even go to the footy!!!

Was continually downplayed by the group I hang around with , we escaped round 1 , got the drug cheats & dees
at a very good time , won close low scoring games without being very convincing for the majority of games

Adelaide debacle early in the year was a true reflection , we struggled to score pretty much all year .
and defended poorly ( injuries didn’t help )

Actually think we have identified early , that the drafting in 2 consecutive weaker drafts wouldn’t help either.

Someone really has to tap Paddy on the shoulder and say it's over.
If you can't get back to footy two years after your last knock then you're never coming back. The focus should be life after footy.

Pretty sure he would know it and is probably starting to come to terms with it.
He’ll get support from the club this season while he decides what he’s going to do in the future, but in his heart of hearts he’s got to know.
As he’s still contracted there’s time for the club to do it gently.

Quite honestly, I take my hat off to the club for the way they have handled his, Robbo’s and Stuv’s issues; quite clearly player welfare is paramount to them, which is great for the players involved with the added benefit of helping to attract others to the club.

I literally didn't say I wasn't excited. But if you think it was anything other than hype after the first 5 weeks you're kidding yourself.

So. Acres and Newnes at about $500k each. Stuv at $750 ish
Paddy at what? 400k?
Juicy was $500+?
And Snake will be ooc next year.

Gags is clearing the books for next year. Someone who will want a lot of money.....
Howard on $500k
Hill $750k
Ryder $180k
Jones $400k
Butler $250k

It sort of balances out

Nothing like a one sided conversation.
More importantly: What’s your starting team for R1 2020 B?
Sorry fam, I’m retired.
