I think moving salaries is going to be huge this season, more so than ever.

Lonie will go to the dogs, I don't anticipate we would have to add much to our return for him to bring in Higgins who is an upgrade IMO.

Even if Clark goes full-time midfield, we will still have one of Long or Geary out of our best 22.

If we bring Crouch in, that pushes Dunstan and Sinclair out of the 22.

Guys like Dunstan and Webster are too expensive to be just depth. They're probably not going to take their games to the next level.

I hope we look to move on as many of Dunstan / Webster / Roberton / Lonie / Hind as we can. Clearing cap space is the priority but any value we can extract should go towards next year's draft hand.

This year, I'd like to see us take the best available player with our first pick and then guys like Crossley, Jye Bolton and Marley Williams with our late picks. They are honestly not going to offer us less for the 2 or 3 games they'd be called upon per year. Best case scenario, Bytel and Byrnes overtake them anyway.

Unless we have a replacement KPD signed up, honestly think it might be worth giving Carlisle the 3 years he needs.

Crouch will need a shrink if he gets to us, can’t underestimate the damage done to him living in that backwards sh*t pit of a state.
I said it earlier...but Brett Ratten will be the best thing that ever happens to Brad Crouch.

Brad Crouch says he is hopeful Adelaide won’t match a bid from St Kilda and allow him to join the Saints.

The Crows have said they would be prepared to match a bid from the Saints for Crouch and force a trade if the compensation for the midfield star was less than Pick No. 2.

The Saints contract to Crouch has not triggered the tier of compensation required for the second pick of the draft and the Crows have until Wednesday to decide if they will match the bid.

Arriving back in Adelaide from Queensland, Crouch said he was hopeful the Crows would not match any bid from the Saints.

“I’ve told St Kilda I’m fully committed to them, so I want to see that out,” he said.

“At this stage I just want to be at St Kilda and the decision I’ve made I’m fully committed to them.”

Crouch doesn't know what he's talking about. Obviously hasn't heard the interview he gave three months ago, nor is he aware that his girlfriend insists that his preference is to stay in Adelaide.

Bloke should double check his sources before he blurts out what he thinks he feels.

What’s the bet the only reason Brad was on that plane was to walk past the media and get that quote out there lol
What's the bet Ricciuttedelaide asked him to say that so that they can tell their fans they had no choice but to about face.

Ha ha right. We'll see.

Some of us have been seeing all along.

Others are only just now opening their eyes to what his happening.

Brad loves 5 years x 600k way more than he loves adelaide and the crows.

Equally- we will next see with a non match that the crows love not brad for 5 years x600k way more than they love brad.

So he wants to stay does he?

Though this might seem like a big free kick to St K, I think this is a deliberate statement to both commit to St K and give Adel an out. Now Crows can say they were going to match but want to do the right thing by Bert. Maybe I am giving him too much credit, but seems like a really smart statement to resolve the impasse and allow Crows to leave with far more dignity that they otherwise would.

Agree. Also gives him room to enter the draft if Crows match. We’ve got our boy.

Just to play devils advocate...... on those last two quotes, could that be a way of trying to encourage us to trade for him, if it came to that?
"Im committed to you. Are you really that committed to me?"

I’m not happy about the one year offer to Lonie, I like the replacement of Higgins for Lonie even less. When you are always bringing in guys from other clubs your forget the guys you have. Lonie is a very popular member of the group and has been with us from the start of the rebuild. Your removing part of the teams soul and identity and I do not like it one bit. Also people underate what he does on the field . Multiple times he’s stuck his body o ln the line and stood up when no body else is.
Geez you have put some mayo on that post mate , we cant keep everyone because they are a good bloke, dont know about you but i want to see us win a flag before i go ,

Crows fans telling us that Brad Crouch secretly loved the Crows and was doing this whole Free Agency thing as some sort of drawn out display of his love so he/they could test whether they would get pick 2 or not was some next level delusion on their part.

I can honestly say we’ve only seen this level of delusion and denial from Essendon fans at the height of the drug saga. It would be funny if it wasn’t scary. How can a whole group of people be that easily whipped into a frenzy by some media reports and sound bites from their “leaders”?

Absolute cultists the Bombers and Crows fans. No wonder people called them“Crowbots.” Not a brain between them.

Indeed. Very simple wasn't it

Brad offered $600k (ish) over 4/5 by us

Adelaide: "we can match and give you everything you want. Including staying in Adelaide with your girlfriend and no hook turns"

Brad: "No thanks"

What a classless thing to say about a young indigenous man who has worked his backside off to turn his life around make a go of it with the saints. He was behind the 8 ball this season as he was coming off surgery. It became very difficult to break into the starting 22 without seconds football to find some form. When he did get a crack he was guilty of trying too hard.

Where's the mayo on this please, I never denied Jack's possibly wanting to leave to further his career. I'm just saying that if you trade away certain guys so we can bring other players who may/may not be that much better, it begins to change the teams identity and culture and not necessarily for the better. As I said I think Lonie is one of those guys, is he our best player no, is he our most important player, no. However he plays an important role which I think is undervalued by many supporters. I also think when he doesn't play our forward line lacks a level of cohesion.
