I can’t imagine we’d split 4 tomorrow? Surely we wait to see if Callaghan makes it through GWS and GC and if he doesn’t then maybe do a deal. If anything I think we’ll try to go up and get the GWS Pick.

maybe if don’t get callaghan I think we will split for 7 and 15 maybe even today. Think another move today hense put deadline on deal with Sydney

cal said Rachele interviewed really well with Adelaide and we know how we love players that interview well

just a thought

I think splitting 4 is becoming a very good option, IF it only means moving down two or three spots.

I think a top ten pick gets you a premium mid, especially considering Amiss, Andrew and Gibcus should slide into the top ten picks too.

How much footage of Callaghan is there kicking around (games not highlights)? The only game I've seen him play he was a non entity (vs Geelong reserves).

Any others I can watch?
Pretty sure Callaghan played in this game ....didn't I give you this link B4 ?

Has the Crows given up on the pursuit of Pick 1?
Yes ....once MELB's future 1st went ....so did our bargaining power ....a player was never on the table as an option, not at this stage of trade week

There is absolutely no need to trade back today unless there is an AFL listed player involved.

Picks can be traded even on draft night so it makes sense to make any trade where we split picks on the draft night.

If we make a deal today around draft picks, it will only likely be because there is a player involved. That's why I suspect it may be a case of trying to trade up.

If North are willing to part ways with #1 pick if they can get a player and Callaghan, then I would not be surprised to see a 3 way deal between North, GWS and Adelaide where Roos end up with pick 2 (Callaghan), GWS ends up with pick 4 (Andrews) and we end up with pick 1 (JHF). Very unlikely I know but its probably more conceivable that Roos would trade pick 1 for pick 2 and goodies rather than pick 4 and goodies if they are fans of Callaghan.

We don't really know if they players have been on the table all along. One thing I have liked about AFC last two trade periods (but this one in particular) is that they have been tight lipped. There have never been any leaks or what not.

While I think that its highly unlikely that we do end up with pick 1, it is not impossible. Every year there is a player that gets traded out of the blue on the last day.

Agree with this. The only way North would consider trading out of pick 1 is if they get pick 2 in return. That way they guarantee themselves that they get Callaghan. Trading down to pick 4 or 7 (Richmond), is far too big a fall and leaves them at the mercy of the draft.
GWS meanwhile, might be willing to trade down if they want Gibcus or Mac Andrew, who both will probably be available at pick 4.

Is it likely to happen? No. BUT, this is probably the only way we are able to get pick 1. I'd expect us to have a crack at it.

Under Nicks there's been very little scuttlebutt about any Crows player (listed) as possible trade options .....IMO that goes to the building of trustworthy relationships

You could knock me over with a feather if a player trade happened today .....medicals and all that

Still a chance though that we grab #2 or #3 ......how that would occur, absolutely no idea

Yeah I'd be surprised if we are involved in any straight pick swaps today given there is no urgency. But I wouldn't at all be surprised if Binuk slides us into a 3 way trade to facilitate another player trade before the deadline.

Is interesting…while Nicks may still have a connection with Giants, Im not sure they will be super keen to help us out with pick 2 after Hately PSD move last year…

I wonder now the Daawson deal is done we make a play on Trent Dumont as a unrestricted free agent .

No, that wont happen ......Dumont doesn't meet Nicks need for speed, speed, speed

I'm keen for the crows to try and trade up and get pick 2 from GWS. Callaghan seems like the sort of player we are missing to our midfield mix. The thought of Callaghan/Schoenberg/Pedlar lining up for future centre bounces are really enticing to me. In saying this it is all dependent on what it would cost to trade up from 4 to 2. Anyone have any sort of ideas of what it would cost?

Off the top of my head ....an exchange of 2022 1st round picks GWS & Crows ......depends on who GWS want as well this year

Is Callaghan actually that good? I haven’t seen him play so genuinely don’t know.

Sure he does a good sidestep and it looks great, but from the highlights I’ve seen his disposal is just OK. No point in a player moving backwards and sideways with ball in hand if it doesn’t result in anything..

Yeah I guess you can't be 100% certain in his talent due to the lack of games. He just seems to be that something we don't currently have, with being compared to have similar traits as Jack Macrae, Josh Kelly and Marcus Bontempelli.

Lot

Yeah Jones is totally an elite mid picked inside the top 10 (drafted as a mid)... isn't he.

Pick 4 gets elite.
