You know when you guys ask stuff like “are we looking at this player or that”

It’s so hard to answer because it’s not a straight answer.

I can only tell you the things I know or hear as that happens.

So if I say no, but then land one. You’ll think I’m full of s**t. I’m not, it’s just that at that point you asked we weren’t.

For what it’s worth. I have been told we would like a tall back.

But I’m thinking state league. Not a starting 18 at an existing club. There wasn’t a name floated in the conversations like there is at other times.

The De Gooey news is correct in terms of figures. It just hasn’t been signed off by the board to my knowledge. From the guys I’ve spoken too, it was an indication to his agent in that vicinity.
Have always enjoyed reading your input stavro#4 even if who you say who MAY be coming doesn’t make it to the team, it at least gives us something to get excited about. Love your work, keep it up mate.👍

Now that Paddy Ryder has retired, can just see the club swapping Brad Hill for Todd Goldstein, with us paying $300k of Hills wage.🥴

In what world would we ask for 2 first round picks? Look at the Langdon deal, nowhere near that.
Would rather him stay, but at the same time would rather trade him while we have the upper hand if he’s hell-bent on leaving.
How is it remotely like Langdon? Nasiah is 19 and a first year player we just drafted him with pick 11 and he looks like one of the best in the draft. If they want him they have to pay up big we absolutely would demand two first rounders why just give him away for what we paid for him?

The thing with NWM is if a club came knocking for him we'd ask for two first round picks, which they wouldn't do, so it would be dead in the water.

There is absolutely no way he will leave this trade period.

So the club puts time and resources into NWM and worse still, plays him next year for him to up and leave at seasons end?

Would be such a St Kilda thing to do as well. Sigh.

It's only happened once that I can remember so it wouldn't actually be that St Kilda a thing to do. And besides if he has a great season for us then leaves he'll have contributed and he'll be worth more.

Anyway the whole NWM thing is smoke and mirrors, it's just because he hasn't signed a contract yet there are no signs he'll leave, maybe next year who knows but hopefully he has a great career with us.

Yes to Gunston.

He is a far better player than Sharman or Hayes will ever be.

Agreed he should put out more than sharman when he is 35 in 4 years time

I haven't seen Gunston this year except against us. I thought he was ducking and diving and falling over himself trying to be gifted soft frees. He looked a shell of his former self.
Just my thoughts from one match though.
Wilkie is Gunston's cryponite.

Played 16 games this year (small ankle injury and then missed games after his fathers passing) and kicked 32.24. Kicking 1.1 in the two games he played against us. I think the other only games he went goalless in was against Melbourne who he kicked 0.3 and in another game he went off injured. Kicked 17 of the goals in his last 5 games, with bags on 5, 5 and 4 in there.

A genuine star forward next to King would be huge for his development too.
Agreed
But how longs gunstun got left???

You can play hayes there with him who is a lead up guy and has fantastic hands, plus sharman who can mark lead and kick goals
Theres not much gunstan could teach king that no one else could as a coach or player

Gunstan 3 years ago id prob go for it
