??. Trac should have been one. Juh will be a gun. Daicos the real number one is a star. Weitering is a gun defender. Raynar is above average. Stopped looking further at this point. Essendons year with Mcgrath can be excused as it was a bad year. Rowell did his knee after starring.
Trac wasnt picked at 1, he was picked at 2. Weitering is a really good player, but not top 20-30 in the comp good. Rayner is just that, an above average player. McGrath is a back pocket, and Rowell for all the early hype, is yet to produce anything of note.

I'm not saying that these players aren't good, nor that having pick 1 is a bad thing, it's just that pick 1 gets valued very, very highly, and the evidence would suggest that on average the player picked at 1 over the past 20 odd years hasnt produced anything better than say 2 top 10 picks

I have confidence when things settle down next year Nasiah will re-sign with the club. He might be home sick this year but a girl friend can change things quickly.

Plus I think the Saints are a lot more stable environment than North currently are. Plus JHF would be getting advice from Fabian Francis who has a checkered past and far from a model citizen.

Also as mentioned Port will be giving up this and next years 1st round to get him and Adelaide wont trade out the first round two years running.

If we don't play finals next year I reckon more players will start wanting out. Laughing at North's misfortune is a bit like the cross-eyed kid beating up the kid who pisses himself.

You have to feel sorry for them. The Hawks paid Clarko $1 million pa to not coach them and rumours that Essendon heard of the fall out before taking Clarko on....something smells funny. North walked in to a nuclear shit storm. Now players abandoning like rats.

Mitch Georgiades would be nice but more than likely he’d want to get back to WA.

I'd like to get him too, his old man John Georgiadis was a star for my WAFL team Subiaco back when we won the last legit WAFL premiership in 1986.

M8, take that deal Norf, he’s a talented kid but his back end of the year was meh and his attitude is obviously not great. A top 10 pick and who knows what next year, probably a pick around the same spot. Just move on from him.
IMO Norf should take them to the cleaners. This might be a saving grace for them to re boot their season. They should be asking for:
#8 + #27 + F1st + Sinn

Then look at trading this years 1st.
1 top 10,
1 pick in the 11-20,
2 picks in the 21-35

Potentially.

But according to a Port ITK, NWM is homesick but genuinely loving his time and feels very supported by the club. Whereas JHF has been sooking it up since the moment he arrived in Melbourne and been planning on returning since.

A lot of players grow out of their home sickness in their second year. Hopefully NWM is one of them.
Maybe the club would think of allowing him to fly home once on either side of the bye for a couple of days? I’d be thinking about doing that If it helps him.

I'm OK with NWM going to Port if we get Rozee, Butters or a top 10 pick back our way.
The way things are going these days we’ve got 1 year to get our Sh/t together. The bottom clubs are dropping away badly with this generation of kids coming thru that want instant success . The top clubs are getting better and better.
We can go either way and we need to sell ourselves and not end up another Kangaroos.

I remember watching our Intra Club and thinking Zac Jones was the clear standout. I was pretty bullish on his year ahead. So I’ve got absolutely no doubts that his personal time off at such a crucial stage of the year impacted his season majorly. He was definitely not the same player upon his return as he was when coming out of that preseason.

I don’t think he’s a world beater or some A Grade mid, but as you point out, when he’s flying he’s a great point of difference, and isn’t afraid to ruffle some feathers.

In all honesty, Jones is probably the only player on our list that won't continuously take sh*t from opposition players and will give it back just as good. If he has a good year next year, goes along way to helping us make the 8

Yeah , he is a good player when right , just hope he gets it together next year.

What happens if Ben King says he wants to be traded , anything can happen this trade period.

if NWM does ask to go back home, would his preferred club be Port?

Port would only be able to trade a player wouldn't they due to the AFL making you take a minimum of one 1st round pick over 3 years (I think that's what it is)

if they do give up 2 first for JHF they would either have to trade in a 1st round pick, or offer a good player (ie georgiades, butters, dursma, rozee etc)

If he is homesick, then trade him to the Crows who could probably offer something better

Nasiah will follow in JHF steps next year
If that’s even remotely on the radar why not just sit down with the guy and say look hear you’re homesick, not happy here whatever….is that likely to be the case moving forward if yes we are happy to deal now
NWM will be a gun - he’s out of contract next year so aren’t we better flushing this out now?

Carlton getting Acres who we gave up for peanuts and now people here are talking about us taking one of their reject midfielders like Stocker or Dow.

We are going backwards.

Well we’ve got all that cash JDG turned down, so….. 🤣

Stocker.

He’s contracted. Gold Coast would simply say ‘no’.

It’s reported that the Bowes situation is still up in the air with Geelong and Hawks as the frontline players for him. Followed by Bombers and North.

We aren’t mentioned in chasing him, which makes me think 🤔 what have we got up our sleeve?

We obviously have the cap.
