I couldn’t care less what battle or anyone else thinks while we’re finishing out of the 8, it’s all too precious. He has improved as a defender but he needed to and his best season up forward was 12 goals. When he makes himself too good to be left out then I’ll scream about bringing in blokes we don’t need, until then if Cordy makes us better I’m happy to have him on the list.
Very weird

I mean beyond the mental gymnastics to criticise the club at every opportunity. Like perhaps by addressing any of the points I made in a rational manner.
Let's not start telling fibs. I've rationally explained my thoughts of why Cordy isn't a good idea and so have others.
Creating a narrative that doesn't exist because I challenged you on it is a interesting response.

Feel bad for Cordy. Social media is absolute filth these days, he can't even check his new clubs Instagram announcement without seeing every single comment complaining or saying something horrible about the guy. No good

It's ok, Elon is buying twitter.

I'm sure that will make things far less toxic.

I understand we want mids.

But * me Nick Haynes would be a dream across half back as an intercept mark.

Good player but he’ll be 31 next year.

Where will we get the coach? Ratten has 2 more years.

Clubs only need to payout coaches 6 months worth of their contracts these days.

Always thought Mason Wood was a good get for us. He's always been a quality player, Norf discarded him without rhyme or reason....

If he is showing some leadership qualities amongst the kids then I have no issues with him in the leadership group.
Heard he’s really taken a few young players under his wing.

Sharman initially, Nasiah.

Volunteers to coach the aflw side too in his time off

I’d happily trade pick 9 and Ben long to Gold Coast for pick 5. How far off the mark am I? They get a best 22 player and a 5 pick downgrade, then we will get a choice whoever slips from that clear top 6

Cadman, sheezel, wardlaw, Tsatas, Clark (Ashcroft)

But what makes the coaches not drop underperforming players regardless of previous conversations?

LACK OF WILL.

Our best coach of the 21st century only became so when he decided, unapologetically, to do things his own way. He dropped Dal and Milne and we barely lost a game for the next three years.
We didn't win the Grand Finals RL got us to but at least we lost them his way.

Ice cold take of the day
We paid through the arse to get the supposed best wingman in the comp, then go plonk him on the back flank to get a kick cause we can't work out how to use him properly… then stick a DFA from north on the wing to amass 15 touches a game and people seem happy.

You'd think he was Peter Matera.

FMD.

There are some absolute oxygen-thieves out there.

No we didn't.

We downgraded them.
Nathan Wright and Spencer White were taken with returned picks.

Hickey wasn't a bad result really. We had old players retiring and leaving the club faster than we could replace them.

Pick 12 Jaksh. - No thanks. ( our pick traded for Hickey ).
Pick 13 Jesse Lonerghan - No thanks. ( Our pick traded for Lee ).
Pick 14 Aiden Corr . Meh.
Pick 15 Taylor Garner. No
Pick 16 Thurlow . Meh
Pick 17 Josh Simpson. No
Pick 18 Brody Grundy : The only player we missed out on in this draft , and face it we wouldn't have picked him anyway.
Pick 19 Ben Kennedy : No.
Pick 20 Tim Broomhead : No
Pick 21 Nathan Hrovat : No
Pick 22 Dean Towers. No
Pick 23 Marco Papparone No
24 Nathan Wright. No worse than any of the others above, apart from Grundy.
25 Spencer White. Worth a shot.

James Stewart taken pick 27

We were not going to build a winning side from this draft, yet we let BJ walk.
I'm aware we got picks back my point was we traded ourselves out of the top end of that draft for some very speculative mature agers. Granted the picks after ours are mostly trash but trading in Hickey when we could have just drafted Grundy was a huge clanger even at the time. Could have kept BJ and drafted a generational ruckman who'd still be playing for us now.

On big $$$ until the end of 2027, I think if we were to take on that contract we’d be able to push for a reasonable deal. Giants already have 4 picks in the first 21 selections so not like they’re desperate for picks too.
Even if we got a good deal that ties $1.9 Million per year until 2025 between Lachie and Hill. That's a lot of ****ing money between two players whose output has been questionable over the past couple of years.

to be fair no one thought Grundy would fall that far. Every phantom draft had him in the top 10
