With the signing of Zaine Cordy, St. Kilda have recruited a total of 48 premiership players from opposing clubs, the most in any club’s history.

Well the IP we get must stand for irrelevant poo. Hasn't helped one bit.

It's can be a bit of in between.
My guess is that we told him we see him playing a certain role in the 22. He obviously liked the offer and took it.

Everyone in the team has to be fit enough and in form enough to play, there are never guarantees.

No need to fly off the handle over a technicality in someone's post.

What's it got to do with you? Are you gringo's bodyguard? I don't think he needs to hide behind your skirts.

A caller on trade radio suggested the Lions did the trade as they are confident they have got Bowes & pick 7 over the line. Pick 7 will then go to the Bulldogs for Dunkley.

Makes sense Bowes is a Nth Qld boy that he would want to remain up there. They will have the McStay cap relief and probably offer Bowes midfield/hbf roles.

1 top 10 pick a year for a few years isn’t going to change the landscape is it?

Even if we land a star. We lose a star in Steele. Etc etc.

The hypothetical proposition put both feet in the current and future camps.
It depends on the draft tbf, and it's important to remember, if you finish last, compared to 9th, all of your picks are 9 spots better, not just the first pick. It also gives you trading opportunities if you want to split the first or second pick. Additionally, not topping up can give opportunities to younger players, which can pay off at times.

I'm not saying I'm right, rather I'd just find that more fun as a supporter. Less focussed on if we make finals (only to not), more focussed on young talent. The early/mid 2000s was the most fun time to be a supporter imo, young stars coming up.

We did that 8 years ago and where did it get us? 3 top 20 picks in 2013 and 2 first round picks in 2014 (including the prized 1st pick). This was supposed to set us up for a tilt at the flag. All we have to show for it today is Jack Billings and no Premiership cup!
i'd prefer if we ignored this point for my argument's sake, ty
