Any others ? SA boys released there’s ?

Hard one to assess given he is a true "development" type option. possibly as early as the 2nd round perhaps given his outstanding athleticism and anticipated future development.

Gippy Power Ruckman Lachlan Smith already 202cm 97kg really grew on me as the season progressed and is a real aggressive type ruck (think Mumford but a better athlete) might be a good option for us in the rookie draft, also another that only recently started taking his footy serious after concentrating on basketball like Goad. Not spoken about hardly at all but I really rate him.
If Thilthorpe had this lad's aggressiveness he'd be a star

Lachlan Smith

Ruck

202cm, 97kg

Hitting form at the right time, the big ruck is at his best when he’s using his brutish frame to stand tall in the contest and offer an option long down the line or in forward 50.

Has a simple set shot-kicking routine which makes him a threat when he’s playing inside 50 but with his size and strength, expect to see his best football in the ruck at this level.

The 2023 preseason was his first full one with football, having come from a basketball background, reinforcing the clear upside.

Has rookie me written all over him.

So assuming West Coast take him - how long before he is back playing for the Cats!

Would have assumed he would of taken himself at pick 1 when asked (not usually short on confidence) so interesting he picked Curtin (and won’t have to move to far)

The article adds some strength to West Coast trading 1 in my view.

Or just take Curtin with pick 1 if that's who they really want

Don't forget ....3 year Contracts for 1st round Draftees this year ....that's a fair time to "bond" with a new Club

I'd Draft Reid if I were WCE .....unless of course you get a ridiculous offer

Top results from the AFL Combine..No records broken this year

2 Km Time Trial - Tarkyn O’Leary (5:48 minutes)

20 metre sprint - Aiden O’Driscoll (2.87 sec)

Agility Test - Lance Collard (8.157 seconds)

Running vertical jump - Darcy Wilson (98cm)

Standing vertical jump - Zane Zakostelsky (80cm)
Darcy Wilson athletic traits were off the charts

Ethan Read breaking 6min 2km at 202cm is also insane and has never happened

I dislike listening to Shifter talking on the Draft .....he's always been simply a mouth-piece of the AFL .....never gives his own opinion

He's saying Darcy Wilson is a Wingman / HFF player with some excellent testing results .....also O’Driscoll has the best combination of speed (winner) & endurance (top 5) ....again a wingman

My boy Caleb Windsor doing well in the sprint testing

Surely some of these wingmen can transition to a midfielder 🤞

Going on the Combine results and and people's perceptions I think the 2 players most likely to have benefited in recruiters eyes are bigger mids Will Graham and Kane McAuliffe with their 2.92 and 2.93 20m efforts respectively and =3rd in the running vertical jump 95cm just behind Darcy Wilson and Zane Duursma.
Was just looking at that McAuliffe result, never pictured him as a quick footy player(not a build for it)(seen bugger all admittedly).

That's very good for McAuliffe.

Wilson doesn't need to be the guy under every pack, but can he be more of a combo mid, like a Josh Kelly type?
Absolutely he can IMO, has played the distributor role at the CBAs for Murray at times this year and has been able to use his speed/skills well in that role. Can already accumulate well, too, good fitness base

How’s the big ruck running a 5.56 2km ! That would have been an afl combine record 5 years ago and he’s 202cm !

I would think he'd likely be reasonably high on our guys draft board given it's well known he has struggled with the dreaded osteo pubis thingy at times the last 2 years and it was impeding him at the Nationals but he battled on manfully doing almost all of the midfield inside bullocking work for SA allowing Sid Draper to shine more on the outside. Not surprising he'd have some groin issues given his still big developing body. That raking penetrating boot of Kane's is a real weapon when he gets into space to use it effectively. Still think McAuliffe, Patton and Goad are the best of the SA boys this year re potential, then there's Moir who could be the best of them all but his 2023 season will have recruiters worried no doubt.

Haven't seen Delean's actual numbers but the word is he didn't test well.
There’s a chance we don’t have a pick later than pick 10 so I don’t think mccauliffe will be in our mix

Take pick 9 and 10 and a rookie ruck ?
