Dman’s back. How’s life my friend?
Summer is supposed to be over, football season has started, and I'm back on BF once more.

Life is stressful. Mum's health is going downhill almost as fast as her memory is going. And I'm here caring for her.

I think with that win, we've sent out a statement that we mean business this year.

We've just claimed the scalp of the reigning premiers, and we held Richmond to a draw last week whilst not playing at our best.

Food for thought there i think, for some of the doom and gloom merchants who were in their element last week.

We have three winnable games next against GWS Giants, North Melbourne and the Adelaide Crows. Let's aim for maximum points from all of them.

Besides we also owe the Crows a beating after last year. There's an opportunity here to get a nice unbeaten run going. Hopefully we'll take it.

Quick caveat that Geelong were clearly not firing on all cylinders tonight, but glad we fought it out. Best game I've seen Kennedy play, and McKay put up midfielder numbers covering the ground tonight.

Charlie, Durdin and Motlop bringing the attacking power tonight, with Owies getting on the end a bit to finish. Still have my concerns with his mobility, but you can see that he's making good decisions.

Two rucks clicked into place for us late as a screen for McKay to take a few grabs, but otherwise it's going to require TDK picking up a lot of forward craft to account for the heavy legs he's have after centre bounce work. Pittonet was more mobile than I've seen for a while, but he was also far more selective. Balance isn't right there.

Docherty's fitness is a little bit of a worry to me, and it immediately drags down his disposal by foot. Hope he can iron it out. Newman still probably the first defender I'd replace, but like Owies still making good decisions... just rarely hurts the opposition when he does so.

Grain of salt with this result, but happy we got the win.
Correct Geelong were missing 2 great backmen and had a few sore but the football public don't excuse carlton when we had 10+ injured and miss finals by a kick.

So glad I didn't fry my membership after the Swans game and the draw to the Tigers

Imagine how good we will be when our players aren't mentally fragile, Voss makes wholesale changes and he isn't out coached

Will curb my expectations though, until we face teams that were considered top 8 sides before the start of the year
....at least until we play a super fast side and string 3 or 4 wins together....we have been here before...keep a lid on it...but we look like a finals side

TDK was next level. Which 8 players are being delisted/traded so we can afford to keep him?
I want to adopt Hollands. 2nd gamer gave smith (who is a wing genius) a bath. Out worked him all game.
Pressure plus all over the park and slick ball use meant there were large stretches of the game where Geelong did not look like it. Dudes, Mots, Ed, Saad and others just brought intense heat.
Sam De Konig will ask to be traded to Carlton after tonight

Nah.

Hawkins went the spoil and got Weiters on the shnozz.

Was happy to be 1 and 1 after the first 2 rounds, but extra couple of points could be vital end of year

Now go on a run of 5 very winnable games if we are switched on

Would take 4 and 1 over that period
I had us 0-2 and still making finals, so dare I say it, we are very likely to make the 8

Thursday night is a great great night to watch football - on the T V. Ratings will be huge for tonight.

Great for our sponsors etc. Atmosphere sounded great on TV.
Thursday night is a shite night for footy imo. The AFL don't care about the average supporter, only about the maximum return on investment. As a shift-worker I cannot stand Thursday night footy, but it is what it is.

Remember when we were so excited at our new mids SPS, Dow and LoB? But then they’d play and earn 12 touches.

Hollands is readymade and still has so much ahead of him. He and Walsh together will outrun any opposition on the outside, but also have the heart to put themselves over the ball when needed.

Cowan showing some nice signs too.
1) I’m Tasmanian, love the kid

2) Hollands is football pr0n

3) I had such high hopes, still not sure how that went sideways. Maybe it was the years of begging for something, anything. I still hope LOB pans out, unfortunately have finally conceded Paddy probably won’t…

I didn't notice at the time but watching the highlights, when Motlop got the free kick in the first quarter, which he kicked a goal from, TDK came in and knocked his brother over. Love that stuff. :D

Look at Ratogolea's response. Was going to go him for going Sam then realised who it was. Funny.

Although Cameron kicked a bag, Lewis Young had some very important spoils and marks, especially in the final quarter and deserves some praise.

Dogs fans are mad at Bevo for keep playing him out of position and all over the shop.

Another tick in the box for Nick Austin, who is really starting to build up some nice credit in the bank, especially when it comes to trading for needs in our best 2w.

From an * fan on the main board.

They played like Voss himself tonight.

Relentless attack.

They who win the contested loose ground ball the most ..wins
