He has an All Australian midfielder who hadn't even played the position before this year.

I mean, I'm mostly playing devil's advocate, but it does seem a lot around here just assume the bloke must be incompetent, when he's probably making the most of some pretty mediocre talents.

Considering one of the reasons Dew supposedly lost his job was he was unprepared - I'm not sure that's an improvement.

We actually dont know if he is doing a bad job. Not sure why people lower themselves like this. Its like when people jumped on Burton shouldnt be allowed in schools because of his Crows role. It has nothing to do with him as a player. Our midfield structure is shit and we keep getting pantsed in that area in big games.

Also, there's a concerning number of our upcoming midfielders who have gone backwards or not improved with him as their line coach. Which can't be said about our other lines.

I think we simply don't have the tools. Missing that third mid. Falls away massively after Laird and Dawson.

I get you but we also am not entirely sure what the overall game plan is and whether they are lining up like that for a reason. I doubt it would be just stand behind your opponents because we are told too. Match simulations happen at practise. So I don't think its that simple as poor instruction. It could be as simple as players unable to out body their bigger midfield opponents. Which again perhaps leads to a poor selection and development philosophy if we are willing to accept and reward mediocrity under the guise we will get better.
