Just on BZT - I assume he’s been playing against the best, tallest KPF most weeks, given their other KPD has been 193cm Jayden Laverde

Things should be a bit easier for him if he’s playing next to one of Butts/Murray/Keane at all times, I assume?

Why would we want Doedee (won’t play most of next year, two knee recos) over BZT, especially given our bevy of 2-3rd kpd types? Surely if we think we need another one we’d want one who can play.

Dawson struggled in his first game as it was his first game of the preseason. After that he did not struggle, it all came down to Nicks using him in defensive as he wanted to bolster the defence, to suggest otherwise is rewriting history and lacking in basic football knowledge.

Then this off-season Nicks trained Dawson less in the midfield than the previous year and he again stupidly started Dawson in defence. After 2 losses and being on the receiving end of a struggling midfield, Dawson requested a change, proved to be one of the best mids in the game, turned our season around and the irony is Nicks gets the credit for the revolutionary move.

Nobody with a clue credits Nicks for the Dawson to mid move.

Dawson was used in stoppages last year. I remember him having issues with a defender close to him.

He fixed that issue.

Murray should be back by mid season in 2024, knee recos these days are closer to 9 month recovery timeframes, not 12. There is new science that shows the graft reaches full strength after 9 months, not 12.
Are they?

Thought they were closer to 12 months still?

Wasn't Doedee out of AFL for a full year?

It's not only about being ready to play, but match fit for AFL.

I think BZT can be your second tall defender, as long as there's a bigger stopper next to him. He can't take the primary forward of the opposition.

I don't hate it.
Worrell is more suited imo than BZT as a 2nd tall defender...

If BZT can't play well on the big tall forwards, then he is not a need.

Just asking the experts in here but is there a difference (generally) in recovery time between heavier players vs lighter ones?
I ask as my un-expert opinion is that the ligaments and bones of the knee would vary in size and strength, very little. It's the muscle mass which is where the major difference are. If this is correct, then maybe Nick might need longer due to having more bulk for his new knee to support.

Over to the experts though.
