Could be just a passing comment, but there was a post on the Port board a couple of days back that seemed to imply we were leading the charge on Baldwin

I mean, if he’s willing to be depth in a couple of years and doesn’t cost more than a 3rd, then sure, but I don’t see the point for us. He seems too good for that

I’d be more comfortable investing in BZT, who you know would be depth in a couple of years, rather than risk pissing Keane off

As to your 1st picture I dont and have never considered a wing as a midfielder. Given Dawsons skill set as a defender - which you highlighted - the difference between a HBF and a Wing (to me) is miniscule

He attended 11 CBA in the first 3 games of 2022 but struggled so clearly we saw the potential which he had shown after RD3 against Port Power this year and hasn't looked back since. Somehow it just clicked this year.

I meant when we recruited him which is why we played him in the midfield in the first 4 games and then tried him again in a few games during that season.

Ironic that it’s him accusing us of only hearing what we want to hear. All we’ve done is interpret all the evidence before us, whereas to arrive at his belief, he needs to manufacture information that nobody is privy to.

Are you disputing the fact Dawson said he trained less in the midfield this year?

bigman also backed up with his preseason training reports that Dawson was training in defence.

How about the fact that Dawson did not play 1 minute of midfield in all our 3 preseason games?

Or when our midfield was struggling in rounds 1-2 that Nicks didn’t think he’s try him in there?

Also keep in mind the switch that was made, Hinge to defence to allow it. Hinge was also unsighted in defence in the preseason.

But keep happy clapping that this was good coaching by Nicks, the only thing he should get credit for was he listened to Dawson and wasn’t stubborn.

Strange because Doedee on a preseason interview said Dawson had spent a lot of time training uo the ground and suggested he wouldn’t play so much In def (was afl fantasy podcast)
