The main targets were both Day and Redman who has ended up a lesser need given Milera's regain of form and Hinge moving back there replacing Smith.

Day is a pure midfielder now and exactly why we need(ed).

Very Crows areas that we not only overlooked him in the draft for a spud Victorian but that Day was drafted to the one club he has family history with.

We might land Bailey Williams this off-season.

Meanwhile Geelong will probably walk into next year with Parish, Bailey Smith and Sean Darcy. Cool cool cool.

Serenity now.

Bailey snith to geelong? Too far away from melbourne kek.

Jokes aside I think he's a good bloke.

I could see us being interested in someone like Witherden, particularly with McPherson's career over, Hamill not far behind and Smith approaching the end.
If we’re going to play this Victorian in WA game there would not many options, at West Coast like you say Witherden, Chesser as mentioned before, maybe Duggan or an out there option like Petruccelle, Freo even less options; Will Brodie? who got shut out this year or Taberner?

I like Will Brodie, he’s a big strong lad and can play. Tabener we have no need for and sadly looks crocked.

Might be one of the few ways that can help us recruit a non-SA originating player. Did we get Seedsman that way?
I think it was...can't remember the lad's name but he was on the rookie list...him and his brother prank their dad on YouTube videos...pretty sure Seedsman asked him what it was like at the Crows which helped convince him...

12 to many
Yawn.

Sure. But it's only twelve, and it's only in a role that takes diminishing midfield time, while he still offers leadership around the club.

Crouch would be expecting 40+ games over the next two years in the guts and can't play anywhere else.

I would have delisted Sloane, but the club obviously feels we need transitional leadership while our list is still so young. It's incredibly boring that every thread gets hijacked by Sloane complaints.

If we're talking impact the only place Sloane is likely to make any sort of decent impact is in the SANFL where the game is played at his pace. We have way better options wing and flank. He's cooked.
Christ - sure. I was trying to be realistic.

So maybe the club only plays him in the SANFL. Maybe it's the Scotty Thompson final year.

Where ever they play him, he's contributing leadership while only taking very limited rotations away from our future mids. Crouch does the opposite.

I'd keep Crouch, cut Sloane and move Laird back, but I understand the thinking behind what they're doing.

This is all speculation, everything points towards him playing all games.

Isn’t it a bit rich to whinge about a topic of discussion whilst bumping a couple of quotes on the topic to reignite the discussion?

Bit hypocritical isn’t or isn’t that relevant as long as you’re the one posting and getting last say?

Sloane will maybe play 12 more games, and do them off a wing or flank.

Crouch has to be in the midfield and needs minutes and CBAs if he's going to have any impact.

i see this being posted around the place, but I can't recall antone from the club actually saying it. Can someone link me to where it's been said please. I've heard Sloane's view on the likelihood he plays SANFL, so I'm aware of the counter.

Not consistent with what the both of them said in the round 3 post match press conference. In particular see the 9:50 mark of the video.
Ok - wow. They literally say they were joking and Dawson says I don't tell him what to do, and they say how they'd been planning for it to happen.

I guess we all should have just watched that video to the end and we could have saved hundreds of posts.

YAWN! it was a reply to your post.
which will be my last as what is incredibly boring is reading this silly me

Why? He was sub near the end of this year, media reports say the club was very upfront with what next year looks like, Xavier Ellis reported in WA media that he'd heard from friends within the Crows that Sloane is back on close to minimum chips and understands what will happen.

I wouldn't have given him a final year, but we've shown with Thompson and others that we can be realistic in a player's final year.

where have you read/heard he'll be playing SANFL next year. Sloane himself said there'd be no discussion around that and it would be years away. Where is your evidence?

And maybe less hijacking if you didn't fabricate rubbish to excuse a really bad list decision.

ftmch I expect you’ll pick up Mostyn for keeping it going?

How about you slice

And for all the posters who liked the post asking this discussion to end, including you Mostyn, what do you have to say?

It will be crickets because you’re only interested in shutting down discussion when it’s a negative against the club.

Seriously dude can you take this to the Sloane thread, you’re detailing the thread

Rory has brushed off suggestions he'll be playing SANFL atm

Pretty sure Silvers made a passing comment a few weeks back that he's been told and understood that he's not guaranteed a spot in the best 22 (not his words). That's about the closest anyones gotten to saying he'll be playing SANFL.

I don't have a link.

Surely Sloane is trolling that he's not playing sanfl for years. That much lack of awareness isn't possible.

Thompson was not under nicks.
I’ll wait until I see actions rather than rumors before I change my opinion, which is based on this year where he played every game he was available for.
