It would be annoying pushing draft capital back a year given we’re trying to win now, but it does make sense in terms of what is available in the draft pool.
I’m keen to move our raft of seconds into some more future firsts, to get highly rated SA and Vic Country midfield talent in the door before Welsh is bid on (given it doesn’t look like we can get that midfield quality in this year’s draft).

The compo they would get in 12 months would be around 30-ish. We shouldn't even consider it if it costs us a pick inside the 25.
I doubt sydney are that unrealistic, but if they want to trade in spite, fine we'll just wait 12 months.
I'd rather see more of cook anyway.

Triple M is suggesting that we've asked about the McAdam trade including Petty coming to us. I know someone else said it in the McAdam thread but a completely baseless rumour like that deserves to be here too.

I'd say Petty is worth more than McAdam.
Because he's better than Butts and Keane on performance.

9 news just said that we definitely do want a player and not draft picks. They mentioned Petty too but that part sounded more like speculation.

Petty may be keen to return to SA to be closer to family - his sister’s recent success in her home state and doing a tour of SA may help in convincing him to come home and the family health concerns.
