If Port cant offer them goid picks in next years draft for these players or somehow get some picks in the 20’s in this years draft to trade for them.. then if you are these clubs youre probably best to just say to port and the players involved..

“Meh, try your luck in the PSD and see if you can get to port”..

If you arent getting anything of value anyway.. why not just make life more difficult for port?.. make em run the PSD gauntlet..

But if those 'c' graders as you call them are better than the current players they use in those positions, they will improve and considering they finished top 4 this year and are in a home semifinal this weekend, it seems that they are fine with the tetris approach of trying to find the right fit for the holes in their list

I think it's the opposite.

Next years first round is much more valuable than this year's. Also next year there will be some SA lads worth taking even ahead of Welsh.

I wonder if we would be interested in trading for Ports future first. If don't end up getting a deal with GC for pick 4, we might be keen to trade a couple of our 2nd rounders to Port for their F1 (assuming we end up with mutliple 2nds after Mcadam and Doedee trade/compo).

Their F1 would be around the 12-16 range if they have another good year. We are likely to only take 2 live picks this year anyway which would be our first plus the North 2nd.

I'm not convinced they're better than what they have, but they do not want Aliir having to defend under any circumstances, so gotta have enough built in depth to cover that the entire year.
