I spoke to former St Kilda recruiting manager King_Steele who likens Bo Allan to a cross between Daniel Healy and Daniel Wulf.
Look he’s a really nice kid. Makes his bed in the mornings. We like him

What are people's opinions on Luke Urquhart as a late pick mid ala Chad Warner?

STRENGTHS:

  • Clearance work
  • Defensive pressure
  • Explosive speed
  • Leadership
  • Power
  • Scoreboard impact

While he can certainly add polish to his game, Urquhart has enough physical attributes to have an impact at the next level. He shapes as a later pick, though it would not surprise to see a club be enamoured by his strong inside game and form at state level to select him as a ‘bolter’ in the earlier rounds. There is plenty of competition for spots when it comes to midfielders in this year’s draft, but Urquhart projects similarly to Sydney star Chad Warner, who plays with similar power and hailed from the same club and school.

If we miss out on a burst mid at 7&8 then not a bad option but I'd only do it at 47 if available

Kicking and decision making is below par. Another one that tends to just bomb it to no one as long as he can

Sid Draper apparently suffering back stress fractures and is not expected to play much footy next season. I wonder if that will slow clubs interest....?

Wow. I hadn’t heard that.

That will make it interesting. Stress fractures aren’t good for a young lad but in a professional environment they will properly treated and healed.

We have back-to-back picks at 7 & 8. I hope we take him if he’s there.

Lots of speculation around our early picks.
But who do we think might be there for us at #32?
What would be the priority and who might be suitable?
(Assuming we select wisely at #7 and #8).

I know this is tantamount to looking into a crystal ball, given the various factors, but we seem to be doing that with #7 and #8 anyway.

I don’t know enough about the players available to us in this range.

Cripps had very high contested ball stats in his year, anyone with stats on CPs for Bo?

Is that what happened to Bytel?

Surely, SURELY we have learnt our lesson about pure midfielders.

I will Terry Wallace if we take another HBF/HFF with potential to be a midfielder.
Who was the other one? In my recollection when we selected Coffield and Clark, Coffield was always a HBF'er and Clark was a mid.
I was dirty wedding take two mids, but only Lachie O'Brien has gone on to be any good.

However I agree, I want two pure mids, don't be too cute.

If he was similar to Chad Warner he’d be a top 5 pick, these annual comparisons are a pisstake outside of the top 10.

I spoke to Brendan Bolton who offered me an Iced Vo Vo.

No

Warner is a unique player where he is extremely good at using his strengths and extremely good at avoiding his weaknesses

Power, speed, and goal threat. His one-woods

His kicking from what I've seen is average, but it looks elite because he plays within his strengths. Always takes the short option and never tries to hit a 40m bullet through the corridor. Couple that with his handball receive game, its extremely damaging because he overlaps between zones

All about development. If Urquhart can adopt this same play style he'll be a very good player too. Same for Allan

Gotta be a KPP with what we let go this off season, and I reckon it's right in the sweet spot if we don't go KPP with 7 or 8. 47 is a really head scratcher and will probably depend how the cards fall with earlier selections.

A BIG KPF who can 2nd ruck would be my preference. Sims. Gerreyn. etc

I can't tell you but have a cruise through the BF phantom to get an idea.
