I can’t see a world in which the club is worse off for losing a dead rubber home and away game.
When the boys hit the track for preseason I’ll be very surprised if a win at the death against the blues vfl side will be at the front of their mind.
I tell you what builds character, winning games when the season is alive.

Narr sorry. We had a hot streak in the last 3rd of the season beating several finalists in the process of which that game was one of them. Players come and go and will draftees rise and fall but there is no amount of talent that can substitute for a winning culture.
The focus on the Carlscum game is misdirected as you could easily just say that you'd wished we'd won 1 less game throughout the season, and that game was a culture builder. Wouldn't swap it for quids.

Depending which club we trade pick #8 with, the above options would be my choice.
