No he hasn’t he’s been good. Has the traits and needs to be given the confidence
Certainly the best he's shown since very early on, something like the player we drafted with his speed and dare once again starting to show out along with a more penetrating attacking ball use

Good leadership is being selfless for the benefit of the team.
Our "leaders" barring Dawson are selfish. They care only about protecting their own interests.
Smith, ROB and Murphy should've dropped themselves already.
Nicks is scared of any ramifications from the senior leaders if he holds them accountable.
Hes a gutless coach.
The boys club exists stronger than ever.
Until Laird, Smith and ROB are gone we are going nowhere.

Honestly just shows how shit our list management and coaching is. How the **** has smith hit a trigger this year. I don't think he has put up one game that warranted him playing AFL the next week. Insane
That's not on list management, on form Smith should have only played 2 games after apologising to his mistakes against GCS and then that worst kick ever the following week.

What are you talking about.

He has played 4 games at AFL level this year.

He has not been anything like you suggest in the above.

10 disposals (8 kicks) - 182 meters gained
10 disposals (8 kicks) - 151 meters gained
7 disposals (5 kicks) - 102 mètres gained
14 disposals (8 kicks) - 174 mètres gained.

He is has been so attacking that Borlase and Butts average more inside 50's than he does.

Which game was he good?

He has only played 4 games and was dropped after 2 of them.

He shouldn't have been dropped after the Collingwood game, he provide a link with his run and carry to break the opposition defense line so usually doesn't end up kicking the ball inside 50.

You know we are traveling terribly when people are saying Will Hamill has played well this year.

Hamill finally played a good game vs Collingwood and kept Bobby Hill in check

Hasn't been seen again and our defence is now too tall and slow, got cut to ribbons by Dylan Moore yesterday.

Just another in the long list of clown show selection blunders.

And his last 2 SANFL were both very good in teams that got trounced. 25 and 18 possessions, 9 and 7 r50's respectively.

Hamill let Bobby Hill do what he always does.

Bobby Hill averages 10.6 disposals, 3 marks, 1.2 goals and 1 goal assist in 2024.

Against us Bobby Hill had 9 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal and 1 goal assist.

I'm sure Nicks put his quickest defender on him and thought "damn, this guy can't cover the ground anymore".

Would have been nice if we had someone capable of keeping Moore to his average yesterday

I think this is a bit silly. When do players ever drop themselves? Just doesn't happen. They just do their best and hope that they get picked. They're taught from a very early age never to give up. And I may be completely wrong and you'll inundate me with examples of players who dropped themselves. But, you know, I doubt it.

Players who aren't selfish and only want team not indivual success will put team first.
Daniel Rich, Simon Prestigiacomo are two of the more famous ones.
Collingwood give their 1st pick drafted player each year Presti's number because he did it in grand final week.
The problem with our "leaders" is they're entitled. They believe they have some sort of right to be 1st picked regardless of form.
Smith execution is horrific, Laird doesn't chase and throws tantrums, ROB offers nothing but they'll never admit to this.

Gunston and Rich from Brisbane last year.

In reality, both should be vulnerable, each for different reasons

The fear is that if Smith is still on the list and regresses even more, and still gets senior games ahead of younger guys in as good or better form, it’ll be actively hurting us both short and long-term

Not even the kangas will touch smith and they need experience

Reckon we could trade them a key defender though...

Has Butts ever played ruck? Considering we are becoming abit flush for kpd id like to see it… just read his draft profile:

DRAFT ANALYSIS: "Jordon Butts is the baby of the 2017 draft crop. He is a great mark, versatile and can run all day"

STRENGTHS: Marking, versatility, accumulation, spread, scope

In 2018, Butts extended his capabilities to not only being able to play up either end, but on a wing as well. He played a mixture of key position forward, key position back and through the midfield to become a "Mr Fix It" for clubs keen to mould the big man into the player they are looking for. He could still improve his strength, and his defensive pressure, but his ability to spread, take a truckload of marks and then just find the ball is very admirable for a player of his size.

Actually not the worst idea....

To be fair, an inanimate carbon rod would do better in the ruck than ROB currently.
