Harry Perryman can't get a go in the centre square at GWS. Has been a bit like our young mids, except frozen out due to their level of talent & wins rather than coaching incompetence.

Would have a crack at him, offering a more significant midfield role

His stats are ok - 18.6 over his career but understandably his last 4 have been good - seems to have been given the SuperSub role at GWS

Hawks are really struggling at 0-5; Mitchell’s (like Nicks) a few years into the job and needing to start showing some improvement; they’re getting smashed in the midfield.

Is there any chance we could offload Laird (or Crouch) to them to help ‘steady the ship’ and pinch a second rounder in return.

Need to exploit those clubs who are vulnerable - god knows it has happened to us. They’ve proved by recruiting Gunston back when clearly cooked that they’re prone to a brain fade.

They definitely don’t need laird they offloaded Mitchell and have Newcombe.

On the Sunday Footy Show they're talking about the Bulldogs

Bailey Dale signed a five year deal last year but is now the sub, a bit on the outer

Could we make an offer and take on 75% of his salary?

Prefer to wait until Ugle Hagan becomes the sub next year.

Surely Bevo is gone before the end of the year. Seems silly to plan for players to be available, when they're surely not still on the outer once there's a sane coach there.

Love that idea, I rate Dale off the HBF and that would replace Smith or possible leave Hinge on the wing.

Logically no. But that was back when the rebuild was fresh and they were prepared to accept some pain. Fast forward two or three years and that club wide unity and tolerance for failure starts to get a bit ragged. I’d be asking the question…

I think it’s everywhere but their midfield that has the issues (except for last night)

Sillier to not chase a player on the presumption that a club will sack its premiership coach and that all the assistant coaches there rate him it's just Bevo being an idiot keeping him out

The list manager's buyer's remorse is what you'd be working on anyway. Might want some space with clubs circling JUH

Hawthorn might be better targeting Berry if they want a cheap, defensive-minded midfielder to balance their centre square

It's hard (should be impossible) for us to have Laird, Crouch and Berry all go through the middle. Too similar and I imagine Berry will be the one getting squeezed (haha)

Guess which one of Laird, Crouch and Berry are not contracted for next year?

I would be looking to turn Curtin into a Marking fwd, if he's not a key defender at 197cm tall let utilise his marking strength , size and agility where it could cause some havoc
If he is anything other than a quality midfielder it would be yet another Ogilvie fail.

Let him play before declaring failure or even a win

He will NOT start in the midfield so calm your farm

His position currently and previously was defence so he starts there. Maybe a flank to utilize his kick and run

Then we see where he can play

For me there is space in the side for all of Laird, Crouch and Berry. The former two have gold jackets and we saw on Saturday and previously against the swans what Berry’s ceiling is (which is more than serviceable).

Laird predominantly off half back with Berry and Crouch predominantly sharing a single on ball / HFF role would work fine.

Crouch plays 70% game time sits easily managed where they rotate through at around 30%

Berry and Laird can play HB and forward flank the rest
