Andy Collins as Mitchell's Lieutenant in the background has a lot to do with the Hawks success, seems to be overlooked a lot in all this Hawks talk. A proven coach on many levels.. Smart by Mitchell to get him in when he was appointed.

Premierships at the Hawks (AFL) and Sandringham (VFL) as a player. Hawks B & F, Premiership as a Coach (Sandringham (VFL), SANFL Grand Final (West Adelaide), VFL Grand Final (Coburg).

I would move mountains to get him in at the Crows.

cant say ive followed his coaching career apart from his stint at west. but jesus he cured a lot of insomnia at richmond. he made paul roos and ross lyon look as front running in attack as graham cornes.

I think he is 100% coming to us. I think your right, it might not get done until late but the clubs know roughly the pick range.

It could be a second rounder but there is a big difference between an early and late second rounder. Maybe we think with some players leaving and other pick swaps we can get a late second ronder.

It may get done quickly IF we are open to trading our F1 where we get a late 2nd back from GC and that is shipped to Melbourne for ANB. So in essence, our F1 buys us Lukosius and ANB

What's the point of that? How many more years are you going to keep him on the list because you're frightened of what happens when he's gone? It's time and if it costs us a couple of wins, who cares, we've stuffed this rebuild anyway and need another couple of near bottom finishes.

Where did I say I was frightened? Bit dramatic. I'd rather have Tex on the list as a mentor than Murphy as a player. Make him SANFL capt. I didn't say play him every game.

I suspect they have 5 priorities in this trade / draft period
1. Draft a top end midfielder (likely Draper)
2. Trade for Lukosius
3. Trade for ANB
4. Try and engineer a draft pick to be in position to get Dodson.
5. Draft Welsh

We have picks 4, 26 & 42 in this draft. We have our F1 and F2. We also have whatever players we move out.

Guys like him and Pendleberry make much more with their media and sponsorships at this stage of their careers.

I would love it if you’re right, but it makes perfect sense so it would be unlikely that that’s what we will do.

We should have offered 1.5 to Phillipou. That kid is going to be so good.

The new coach would make them.an example of what me first rather than team first looks like.
Then we win the next 2 premierships in a row and then have 2 decades of mediocrity again.

Lost his pace, hence why he's no longer best 22 for the Dogs when all players are fit.

We couldn't part with it for guys like ANB and Luko. I don't think we will do it.

The value of the future first would be an awkward conversation at list management. I'm sure Nicks and Roo would be confident we will have a better year but Reid has to be realistic.

I'd take T Murray, Thilthorpe and Strauchan over ROB. He's a massive liability around the ground.

Jones versatility to be able to play multiple roles makes him handy depth. We have so many one trick ponies whereas Jones could play any role other than KP or Ruck.

Yep, desperately need to draft / trade for another ruck ....and those advocating Thilthorpe, with his regularity of picking up injuries, and often knee problems ....the last thing you do is get to ruck more than just as a relief RUCK
