Rana comes across as a massive bellend. Bowls half track party pies and wants to stare down every player as if he's some sort of enforcer. Laughable stuff by the campaigner.

At least Bumrah for all his carry on is a certified gun who's earned the right.
What is Bumrah's carry on? Dude is super reserved

Amazing effort from McSweeney and Labuschagne.

Keep feeding me slices of humble pie tomorrow lads!

Bumrah couldn't find a consistent length which helped immensely. He bowled a few jaffas but it wasnt 4 or 5 an over like Perth.

Not out of the test at the close of play day 1 is a huge improvement. Hopefully we can pile some miles into the Indian quicks tomorrow!

they got through he hardest part unscathed.

well done to them.

Bumrah looks dangerous anytime he touches it though

There was a curious thing in Perth that despite the wicket being extremely bouncy most of the time, they got a few balls to skid through quite low on day 1 for LBW's. Those LB's accounted for McSweeney, Labs and Smith for scores of 10, 2, and 0; this more than anything else explains the first innings collapse. You can deal with losing two wickets cheaply, but not most of your upper order. Head copping a quick full one before he was ready also didn't help.

Tonight, they looked substantially less threatening because they didn't get their length right, Siraj especially. He had that full packed cordon and spent the evening bowling to it; back a length outies seeking the drive on the up. Siraj is at his most dangerous with the ball pitched up and skidding onto the stumps, using that dramatic angle he gets to pin blokes to the crease. That spell is about the most pedestrian he's ever looked over here. Rani for all that he bowled a lot of garbage - he too tried to bowl back a length, but the extra height and speed made the pull and cut options - looked their most threatening, IMO. The other two were well down in pace for most of the evening (in addition to bowling the wrong length) and he was getting it to nip off the deck at speeds difficult to play.

Bumrah looked... tired. He still got the most lateral movement in the air, still bowled some genuine jaffas, but he looked a bit more laboured than he should in the second test. It's interesting and I don't want to jinx it - he's probably going to come out tomorrow and blow us apart - but if the other two don't sharpen up a bit in terms of runs scored, he's going to have to shoulder a lot of the load both as a wicket taker and building pressure.

Spot on mate was going to post very similar but thought I'd do the courtesy of reading a few posts first.

Australia won the day and outplayed India, with the bowling being the key difference. The batting was fine but not tested too much.

Australia's bowling was very good. India were poor, apart from Bumrah's first spell. His second spell was not threatening, did I see a very slight limp out there or is that just how he walks?

Per cricinfo:

Across formats 😮

Pant keeping to Bumrah: 8 drops in 42 attempts
Against other pacers: 10 drops in 132 attempts
As a keeper myself I’ve watched Pant closely and whilst I’m not overly wrapped with him I think he’s more often than not wrong footed by the angles.

He stands very straight for a right hander and his first movement is often still to the leg side.

In the case of the one he dropped off McSweeney his weight initially went leg side then he jolted and dove back to the right. Most coaches would tell you that unless you are by yourself you leave it for the slips

Just quietly, Khawaja would be wanting a big score pretty damn soon.

At nearly 38yo, he's not going to be 'carried' for very long if he's not performing.

Sure he’s like one that ball was a good one though, despite at the time I was questioning why he was playing at it.

The alternatives aren’t ready (Konstas) or coming off two decent games after a year of trash (Hunt). He’ll be given till the end of the SL series

With keeping I remember an interview that Allan Knott did pretty sure it was him (ex English keeper). He basically said you aren’t keeping well (and you’ll be inconsistent at best)if you are diving more than the odd occasion. Pant does it every second ball, Carey has improved this not doing this nearly as much as he did

He looked to me like he was swinging his arms about too much taking the ball.

He has indicated internally that he wants to finish at home for the Ashes next year but I can honestly see him pulling the pin earlier if things don’t improve

Konstas announced after his half century v WA that he wants to wear the baggy green as soon as possible.

So, Test 3 it is.

Hunt leads the Shield aggregates.
Not just two decent games.

But Konstas is inked in next in line.

Hunt is also coming off a terrible year last season. They will want him doing it for a year not just a few games.

Konstas is first in line
