Hands up who expected Brisbane to be the first side to 100 points (and first depending on how tomorrow goes)? Great game from them. After the first quarter they looked flat out awesome.

West Coast looked short of a gallop which is kinda understandable given the conditions but even then, still poor. I think they'll bounce back though.

Brisbane dominating in these conditions, look very sapped after the first quarter. We'll bounce back next week and hopefully with JK and Willie back in the side.

Rough trip to take for the start of the season, shouldn't have to head to Brisbane until mid year. What a bummer, Brisbane look like a good team finally
Why shouldn't you have to head there til mid year? Surely it's best to get this trip out of the way early anyway

That's the thing though. Not all of these matches are actual upsets. Only natural a few of these teams will drop in form and some of them will improve. It is hard to work out which is which.
Just being a little tounge in cheek.

But only going off betting odds. R1 does this though.

But only Collingwood of the losers didn't lose any credibility imo.

You'd think after training and doing sweaty, greasy ballwork in the hot perth sun during summer the eagles would be used to the conditions. Seriously playing at the gabba is not the reason for the great result for lions!
You been to perth or Brisbane? Very different conditions.

Port also didn't play in these conditions.....good luck playing with soap when Brisbane have trained in it for the past 4 months

4 months? For years.

Anyway, most interstate teams have a decent home ground advantage, Brisbane just didn't take advantage of it for a while because they have been ordinary for a long time, the premiership era team was almost unbeatable up here.

Eagles back to reality. Good on them for pinching a flag though. Just like the Doggies.

Commentator harping on about 6 under 15 games... Well we had 4 on debut against Melbourne.....
WC didn't pinch a flag, they had the best win/loss ratio over the previous 4 seasons for both finals and regular season post 2018.

Tonight the players phoned it in, big wake up call.

Is every game day thread like this? Oppo fans coming in to say how your season is cooked because of one loss? Poor loss, we’ll do better.

How dare they celebrate after so many years of being crap.
Of course I get this reply. I’m fine with them celebrating. The last couple of goals were just celebrated like they won the grand final. Singing the song with gusto and celebrating at the final siren is fine. Getting all 18 players to run over and celebrate goals up 36 and then 42 points is slightly overboard.
