This is the most exciting thing to happen in Adelaide since the Grand Prix. Will be very difficult for Carlton to win, Adelaide will basically be playing their grand final.

Most number of people in Adelaide wanting to leave Adelaide since about the massive English migrations of the 1850s where immigrants would arrive and then immeadiately risk life and limb to leave Adelaide to go to Victoria.

I´m going to be impressed with whichever team wins.

Feels like an important game for both teams but it will also tell us a lot about both teams.

I think less so for the Crows. Losing this still allows us a 10+ win season which should really be the pass mark. The hype generated in the media seems a bit overblown and part of me wonders whether it's a bit gaslighty.

Similarly for Carlton I don't think it spells disaster but given they haven't won at AO and the fact they were beaten comfortably late last year should be pretty good motivation along with return of Walsh and retention of McKay. If they can't get up for this then the same mental questions will emerge.

I think the fact that Adelaide have been smashed in below $2 to win this is absurd and expect the market to correct prior to the bounce.

5 day turnaround for the Crows might be an issue. Reckon it will be a cracker of a game. Tonight will be interesting for the Crows seeing as we have all but three available for selection. Any of the fellas that won 5 days ago will be a bit unlucky to miss out, but we will be stronger with the inclusions. Crows by 15.

Got a horrible feeling our mids will be exposed for pace and defensive running.

Tipping Crows by 5 goals+
If we get Walsh and Acres back, that those two plus Hollands, who run both ways all game.
It's only really Cripps, Hewett and Curnow (who I expect will be dropped if Walsh, Acres and Kennedy come back, in which case you can replace Curnow with Kennedy in the slow stakes) who lack pace.
Add midfield cameos from Fisher (who was actually really good with his two way running and clearance work last week), and times where Motlop and Durdin push up the ground. There's enough pace. The main thing will be the forwards applying enough pressure on the rebound to slow the ball and allow the mids and defence to set up.

Our kicking will be the deciding factor. We should be 4-0 at present. Bad kicking at goal cost us 2 wins.
We could say the same. 4-0 with a bigger percentage.
We've kicked 46.53 with a goal accuracy of 45.1%
You've kicked 57.52 with a goal accuracy of 47.1%

I don't know what the difference is between goal accuracy, goal efficiency and shot efficiency, but you're higher in all 3.
GE%
Crows = 26.5%
Blues = 22.3%

SE%
Crows = 56.3%
Blues = 49.5%

You score more, but also allow a fair few more points to be scored against.
You average 98.5pts and allow 93pts
We average 82.3pts and allow 72pts

For what any of that's worth.

I'm going to say Blues by 3 points - 88 to 85

Very tough one to call.

We’ve always had the grunt under Nicks, but with Dawson into the midfield, the addition of Rankine and Michalanny and the improvement of Rachele, TT, Pedlar, Fog etc we seem to have got the polish. Still a very young and inexperienced group though, so consistency will always be a problem. Our defence has also been very leaky and Butts is definitely down on confidence and potentially carrying something, can see McKay and Curnow tearing us a new one.

Will also be a massive test for where Carlton are at mentally, if they’re genuine top 4 contenders they beat us, however does being 0-6 at Adelaide Oval, and returning to the ground and match up that cost them a finals spot last year get in their heads?

Carlton by 14 I think.

Agreed - it’s a great test for The Blues.

Crows are embedded with repeated games at home and enlivened by the SA faithful.

Either way it will be a great game to watch.

Given the forward lines of both teams - the answer to who wins sits with who’s mids get ontop & who’s defence can withstand inevitable pressure ?

Our midfield will be bolstered tonight, our defence is the second best so far this season.

Future bright for both.

Think we'll know in the first 10 minutes who's going to win this one. Blues will either be out for blood after embarrassing themselves last year in round 20, or a bit wobbly bringing a few players coming back into the team at once.

If we're out for revenge, I don't like the Crom's chances. Hopefully a good match though, wish I could be over there for what looks like a magnificent round of footy.

If you are not out for revenge you may as well toss out anyone who wasn't up for it and your coach. The speech writes itself this week.
