Anyway just bear with me while I go off topic for a minute...

On the MB thread about this situation the poster Albert Collier mentioned he was involved with a yoof footy team at Daly River. We're all banging on about stuff around this situation, naturally most of us here want Clarko cleared somehow and other people have a different view, some of them no doubt want his head on a pike at AFL house.

But the team Albert is supporting ... that's a real thing, a real chance to make some small improvement in people's lives. Sure culture wars are fun and blah blah blah but there is a go fund me for this team and a small donation from any of us will contribute to giving these kids a chance to play footy.

I mentioned it on the MB thread and three or four other people donated. i'd *en love it if we could do better than that on this board. I know times are tight now but if a few of us could chuck in 10 or 20 bucks (more if you can afford it) to the go fund me then I can use that to give it to people on the MB

And, much more importantly, we can all contribute to doing something positive for these kids in Daly River.

Ultimately this argument's gonna disappear into the ether in a few years but if we help these kids out a bit that is forever for them. They'll carry the benefit they get from it with them for the rest of their lives.

Here's the link for the go fund me page.

If you can find it in your heart to chuck a few bucks their way then I'd really appreciate it but much more importantly so would they.

Done, ferbs.

Cheers I'll take you up on that but really no one owes me anything for this. We've all put in. Like I said upthread I'm so proud of this board right now. Its not often BF makes a difference that matters but this is one of those times.

Personally I feel I owe all you a beer for your efforts.

Thanks for raising awareness. I’ve made a donation too.

Thanks everyone for your incredible effort. Has been amazing. The Big Footy Community has now raised over $1000 with most of it coming from Kangas fans. Sadly, one club deleted it from their page but hey let's focus on the positives. From the Aboriginal community I cannot thank you enough. This is making a difference. ferball

I just went and had a look at the gofundme page.

Its $1000 more than it was when I first looked at it, most of that from this board, in under two days. We ran a footy club on a shoe string budget at Nimbin and that much money would have made a huge difference.

Great effort peeps.

And one of the best things is that the biggest donation is in the name of one Sonja Hood!

Hey there, I just went and checked it.

Look this situation has really messed with us. We have a proud tradition of not being racist scum - I'm in my 50s now and have always felt that about my club. Its definitely hurting us and causing alot of stress.

But one thing I once read that sticks with me is this:

“Just as important as what we do or what we don’t do, is how we behave when
we don’t know what to do.”

I'm rapt with how we've behaved here.
