Nothing burgers is an apt description of what happens when you serve up this juicy delight for society of start tucking into and by the time its ready to be smashed down… there’s nothing. Low IQ? Plausible. Creative? Absolutely. Rate it. Only heard it when Musk said he was going to produce evidence to sink the great Fauci. More nothing burgers. Im rolling with it.

To a certain extent, you can never rid yourself of the stigma once you have been accused, how many people feel Pell is innocent of what he was accused of regardless that the high court threw out the verdict?

If the full weight of the legal system is used to crush those that have accused Clarkson and Fagan then it will be seen as the rich white system used to oppress first nation voices raised to highlight oppression... I think how the evidence evolved and how conclusions are derived are as important as the conclusions themselves.

For the sake of simplicity, assuming both Clarkson and Fagan are completely innocent of all the allegations, we have to unpack how we got to the point that people genuinely believe the accusations. We need to work out how it is we got to this point, because something went down at Hawthorn, we need to resolve how it is we got to where we are now.

My gut feel is that some of the players have been less than honest with their partners and it has been easier for them and their communities to accept that people at Hawthorn were responsible for what were choices made by individuals. I think the most vocal that have been WAGs would probably pass lie detectors but IF Clarkson and Fagan are innocent of the accusations I think some of the players themselves must have made life decisions that they have struggled to live with and felt it was a lot easier to deal with if they blamed the club and it's figureheads.

I don't think there is a grand conspiracy against Clarkson and Fagan so there must be a relatively simple answer, if that is the case that they are innocent of those accusations.

I get what you’re stating, mud sticks...and i really don’t have the energy required to get into the difference between Pell and the Hawks situation, but I’ll give you this, even if Pell is innocent of the personal charges against him, Pell is still the person responsible for creating the legal brick wall that limits the compensation available for victims of the catholic church.

Its not the same thing.

If the investigation finds the abortion stuff didn't happen, but Clsrkson did handle other situations badly/insensitively I can see him both accepting vindication and also apologising.

Pell's accuser gave evidence under oath and he was found guilty by a jury, then the highest court in Victoria upheld the verdict.

That counts far more for me than what rich peoples court in Canberra said.

Amy won't give evidence and Clarko isn't being tried at a criminal court.

Very different situations.

Would want to be one hell of a grovelling apology I think.

Not sure he will he seems to be very bloody minded about the issue.

When the ABC suits tell him its apologise and retract or he's out on his own and out of a job (as they presumably did when The Prez went him) he'll sing a different tune.

I imagine it would be hard for him to accept, but maybe it’s best to accept a he said/he said finding if that is what comes from this investigation.

How is going to court going to shed more light on the situation.

As far as I can tell, the abortion allegation isn’t even being tested in this investigation.
Going to court will out the faceless accusers. Like any other accusation of this gravity. That forces transparency. Can say anything when you’re not accountable. There is one reason and one reason alone these accusers are having their anonymity protected and it’s bs. Equality when it suits.

In a perfect world aye.

But the world is imperfect and always will be.

We did Clarko a real solid standing by him like we have. In return, he's got to focus on footy rather than his reputation.

If the investigation finds that the abortion stuff plain didn't happen as reported, the ABC's not going to fight a defamation case, they'll apologise and retract.

If the investigation finds Clarkson did act in way that went beyond the bounds into people's personal lives in other ways, then he needs to man up, apologise and move on and concentrate on winning us flags.

I don't see a situation where he walks away with all charges dropped/not guilty as it were. Nor do I see a situation where anything that stops him coaching us is proven.

Let's be honest, the psychotic little ****er did cross lines back then, but with all his players. As did plenty of other coaches at other clubs.

But he's not racist and he appears to have learned from that time.

And he did win four flags and quite frankly, if he thinks hanging Curtis Taylor from the Westgate by his balls will win us a flag, I'm ok with it

I was thinking earlier today how good it was that we let him start back on nov 2. With the investigation seemingly dragging into the unknown timeframe, we’d be stuffed if we were still waiting with him having non started.

That all Clarko coverage in the media has been positive lately with little to no mention of the watertight investigation is a clear sign that the AFL has given the red light to media speculation (although their love child Caro is of course given special privilege).

And the spin on the investigation is that the AFL and other clubs are angry at how Hawthorn handled it.

What's that one ? Pink Floyd / Wizard of Oz territory ?

Nah not as cool as that.

The myth is that he saw someone let a kid drown when he was a kid, wrote the song about it, invited the bloke to his concert, called the bloke up to the front of the stage, put the spotlight on him and then sang the song to him, exposing what he did.

It’s really just about going through a divorce.
